ONE pulls trigger on new ships with order for 12 methanol dual-fuel boxships The order for twelve 13,000 TEU containerships is split between Chinese shipbuilders Jiangnan Shipyard and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, Intermodal Shipbrokers said. The dozen will be dual-fuelled with methanol. The newbuilds are slated for delivery in 2026 and 2027. The order for new eco-friendly ships is a part of ONE’s Green Strategy, to safeguard a sustainable supply chain for the future and underscore ONE’s decarbonization plan. Proman, world's largest methanol producers, proudly announced that, Stena Provident, a groundbreaking methanol-fueled vessel among the fleet of IMOIIMeMAX ships, has achieved a significant milestone by completing the inaugural methanol bunkering at the Port of Savannah in Georgia, US, on February 29, 2024. This achievement underscores a transformative step towards cleaner energy solutions in maritime transportation. Commissioned through the innovative partnership between Proman and Stena Bulk, Stena Provident is one of six state-of-the-art methanol-fueled vessels at the forefront of maritime sustainability. Under a time-charter agreement with Bahri Chemicals, the vessel successfully loaded nearly 1000 metric tons of methanol at Colonial Terminals Lathrop 2 facility, marking a historic first for the port. The landmark event signifies a significant advancement for methanol as a marine fuel. With a record number of orders for methanol-fueled vessels in 2023, the industry is increasingly recognizing the environmental and operational benefits of this cleaner-burning fuel. A match made in...China! We have completed the first in a series of nine installations of our emissions reducing #Filtree systems for leading product and chemical tanker company Ardmore Shipping Corporation. Taking place in China, this was the first time that we have installed our system outside of Europe. The Ardmore Seaventure is also the first Ardmore vessel now fully equipped with Value Maritime’s Filtree system. The remaining installations for Ardmore Shipping are scheduled to take place in China over the next nine months.
