MANITOU Group announces update in Executive committee Manitou Group announced a change in its Executive committee with the creation of two positions: Chief Transformation & Governance Officer and Chief Financial Officer. These positions are held by Hervé Rochet and Céline Brard, respectively. Over the past five years, Manitou Group has seen growth in sales (+50%) and headcount (+30%). This dynamic performance has been achieved in a world of perpetual change, where environmental, social, digital and human issues are now paramount. To meet these challenges while continuing its transformation, Manitou Group has decided to reorganize its Executive committee. Hervé Rochet, who has held the position of Corporate Secretary - CFO of the group since 2014, is appointed Chief Transformation & Governance Officer. This role will enable the group to accelerate its transformation, address digital, human and reputational challenges while ensuring the integrity of its governance framework. The position of Chief Financial Officer is created effective immediately, and is held by Céline Brard. Her role will be to position the Finance function as a priority lever in the development of profitable and sustainable growth. Céline Brard has spent her career in highly competitive international environments, notably with KPMG for 9 years and with Valeo for over 24 years. During her time at Valeo, Céline Brard has had financial responsibility for several geographical zones around the world. Atlas Partners Director, Liam Killen, sat down with Tim to understand what the journey from early days accounting to CFO has been like, and particularly the transition and core differences from Commercial Manager to now Group Chief Financial Officer. “The people management aspect really escalates to another level. I think time challenge is one of the biggest things. You have to be more judicious with your time and move quickly — make decisions right or wrong, and move on. Some of those things you have to learn on the go and you won’t know everything to begin with. There's more things that you're not an expert at. But with the support of the business, you just get through it. You also need to do a lot more research, which can be time consuming, you have to be scanning the landscape for larger risk, more enterprise-wide risk. The difference is also the impact and the influence you can have on the business — your decisions matter, they affect hundreds of people. Road trips with two cats is like being a fractional CFO… There aren’t many things I do that are “normal” To see a solar eclipse, my wife and I took a 1,000-mile road trip… … with two cats. Talk about making a grand entrance when checking into a hotel. My wife loves traveling with the cats, and so do their spectators. My wife convinced me to buy a bigger vehicle for our "growing family..." After our second cat showed up on our doorstep at midnight. Hotels almost always up-charge for traveling with pets, unless a cat lover happens to be checking us in and lets that fee slide with a wink and several selfies with the little furballs. As a group, we tend to travel faster Because we can’t make long pit stops to see oddball attractions. Destinations are, therefore, reached much more efficiently because the "family unit" requires it. Since everyone in my crazy crew is happy during these chosen expeditions, it’s worth the incremental cost. All of this is like being a fractional CFO: -        Hiring a high-quality fractional CFO can be pricey at first. -        That person should come with a great posse to support them. -        The posse is a focused and seamless team. -        The entire team is better traveling together than riding solo. Mr. Le Thanh Hao Nien resigns as CFO of Loc Troi Mr. Lê Thanh Hạo Nhiên Mr. Lê Thanh Hạo Nhiên was born in 1981 and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii (USA). He previously held the position of Director of Investment at VinaCapital Private Equity Fund before joining LTG on April 5, 2021 as Deputy General Director in charge of Finance, Accounting, and Taxation. Since August 2021, he has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer at LTG, replacing Mr. Nguyễn Duy Thuận. Therefore, after 2 and a half years in office, Mr. Nhiên will no longer hold this position starting from February 7, 2024. At LTG, he does not hold any shares. Currently, Mr. Nhiên serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and legal representative in various subsidiaries of LTG such as Loc Troi Agricultural Products Corporation, Loc Troi Plant Varietal Joint Stock Company, An Thinh Dien Organic Fertilizer One Member Limited Liability Company, An Giang Real Estate Joint Stock Company, etc. Prior to this, LTG has conducted a written shareholder opinion survey regarding the dismissal and appointment of Board members for the term 2019-2024, based on the shareholder list as of November 9, 2023. He is currently the CEO of Affirma Capital since 2019. He also holds positions in Crystal Jade, Paddington Enterprise, and PT Travira Air. According to their website, Affirma Capital is an independent private equity firm operating in emerging markets, managing assets worth over 3.5 billion USD and led by a highly experienced leadership team previously working at Standard Chartered Private Equity. Affirma Capital has stated that they have invested in LTG since September 2014. In terms of business performance, by the end of 2023, Loc Troi achieved a record revenue of over 16 trillion VND, an increase of 37% compared to the previous year. However, the net profit was only 265 billion VND, a decrease of 36%, due to the burden of interest expenses and provisions for bad debts. Consequently, the company was unable to achieve its set profit target of 400 billion VND for 2023. LTG’s 5-year business performance At the end of February 21, LTG’s stock price closed at the reference price of 27,000 VND/share, an increase of 3% compared to the beginning of the year and an increase of more than 30% from its short-term low in early November 2023.
