Just finished this LinkedIn Learning Path: "Jumpstart Your Skills with Large Language Models." The whole path was pretty advanced considering I was a newb on all this about a month ago, but it was well worth my time because it really helped me to understand more fully what is going on inside pre-trained models and the power LLMs. I also learned a lot about the different types of models and how they are used. This pro-tip for enhancing your development flow with AI was shared with me today by one of our incredible Cooperative Benefits Group (CBG) Staff Architects (Spencer Judd). Using Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet (or your favorite model), do the following flow: 1. Enter the following prompt: You are a prompt writing expert; I want to write some expert level prompts for: [enter your use case here. in our case, Software Development]. I need some for reviewing code, providing feedback, identifying patterns, testability, well architected solutions, security, performing WAR sessions, and monitoring services in production. 2. Then it gives you some short but good ones in a list. In that same chat, tell it to go one by one and make each prompt an expert level prompt. 3. Then it gives you some expert level prompts in another list. Bookmark or save these somewhere to use with other LLMs! 4. But this is how you level-up the flow even further. Once you have that list of expert level prompts, in that same chat enter the following: Now take all of those expert level prompts that you generated and make them into a perfect system prompt that is capable of executing all of the tasks associated with those expert level prompts. 5. Last night, I had the pleasure of dining with one our engineering teams at Cooperative Benefits Group (CBG). It's time for our annual company party in Salt Lake City, UT. I always tend to reflect on the year more intensely this time of year when our whole company is together, thinking about the story that brought us all together. It's been a big year for us with respect to deliverables. We've been able to hit hard with PA enhancements, Encounters enhancements, new client implementations, AI products & integrations, data improvements, security improvements, team growth, team skill uplift, and more. This small team has done some amazing things, even things that larger shops struggle to complete in a couple years. As we were sitting around the table, I realized a few things: - This team is 100% committed to each other - There is no posturing going on at the table - There are no ego battles - Everyone is unique, comes from a different background, and have taken different paths, yet there was a notable sense of unity and common ground - Everyone knows they can be themselves and that what they say won't be used against them at a later time - There was genuine laughter, camaraderie, kudos, storytelling, and just overall goodness I'm grateful to be able to serve this team. They've taught me a ton about myself, how I need to change, and have helped evolve my career path in ways I couldn't have done at larger, more complicated companies. Thanks for being awesome Davis Hansen, Shaun Nieves, Spencer Judd, Mike Buckley (and Jordan Gresham we missed you but glad you were able to get some rest in this week).
