Just stumbled upon a thought-provoking article by David Munguia Gomez and Emma Levine that sheds light on a critical aspect of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. 🌈💼 Despite the surge in organizations adopting policies for equal opportunity and striving for inclusivity, there seems to be a conspicuous "policy-people gap" in the realm of hiring practices. 🤔💔 👉 The study suggests a fascinating phenomenon: decision-makers tend to lean towards favoring disadvantaged candidates when devising policies, but this inclination falters when it comes to actual hiring decisions. 🤷♂️💼 🤝 This highlights a stark difference between the discourse around diversity practices and the execution of those policies in the real-world hiring scenario. 🌐🤝 It's a reminder that true progress requires more than just well-crafted policies; it demands a commitment to translating those intentions into tangible actions. 🚀💪 🌟 So, here's the million-dollar question for you and your organization: How diverse is your team, really? 🌍💬 🌐💼 Is your organization's HRM genuinely committed to bridging the gap between the organization's championed principles and actionable results? 💬 🌐💼 How can recruiting managers collectively translate talk into action for genuine workplace diversity? 🤔✨ Look around – does your workforce authentically mirror diversity, or is it merely a paper promise? Let's ensure workplaces embody true inclusivity! 💡🌈 #InclusiveRecruitment #DiversityInAction 🚀 #HRMCommitment #BridgeTheGap 💡

🌟 Embracing Diversity and Fostering Inclusion 🌟 As Verna Myres, a pioneer in diversity advocacy and consulting, famously said, "Diversity is being invited to the party, inclusion is being asked to dance." Myres dedicated her career to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, emphasizing the importance of creating environments where everyone feels valued and empowered. Diversity goes beyond mere representation; it's about acknowledging and celebrating the differences that make each individual unique. It's about inviting people from all backgrounds to the table, ensuring a variety of voices are heard and perspectives considered. However, true progress is only achieved when we move beyond diversity to embrace inclusion. Inclusion is about creating an environment where everyone feels not just welcome, but valued and empowered to contribute fully. It's about actively inviting people to engage, collaborate, and innovate—to dance, if you will. As HR professionals, leaders, and members of diverse teams, it's incumbent upon us to not only invite diversity but to cultivate an inclusive culture where everyone feels they have a meaningful role to play. Let's continue striving for environments where every individual can bring their authentic selves to work and thrive. #DiversityandInclusion #HR #Leadership #OrganizationalCulture #Empowerment

Successful HR leaders do these 3 things to build an Inclusive workplace. It takes skill but this is what I’ve noticed: - Curating ideas: they are intentional about the information they consume and share. - Apply what they learn: they implement useful ideas quickly to test them out. - Choose their sources carefully: they seek insights from trustworthy and credible sources. This means they stand out. - They think for themselves. - They don’t chase vanity metrics. - They don’t just listen to anyone. You can do the same. Use this to establish the fundamentals you need on your Inclusion Journey. Share this with anyone who needs to stay on track.

⭐ FORBES: Why Companies Need A Chief Diversity Officer Companies are now acknowledging more significant action needs to be taken to remove these inequities. The bulk of organizations cite diversity and inclusion as crucial and vital to improvement, but few have tactics to increase DEI that extend beyond hiring. Many are hiring a Chief Diversity Officer to ensure DEI is at the forefront of a company's goals and missions 🔵The primary role of the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) is to ensure that the organization's culture values DEI. The CDO is tasked with being accountable for compliance, advocacy, and education of the company. He/She uses interpersonal skills to promote collaboration among multiple business units. Not an easy task. 🔵 The CDO guarantees that strategic goals, company policies, and laws surrounding DEI are indeed being followed and carried out. If they are not being carried out, then he/she creates an action plan to change it. 🔵The CDO is the lightning bolt that strikes the issues and changes the culture to embrace DEI. Therefore, it is essential to support the work of the CDO because he/she is changing the workplace of the future for the better. #DEIB #TALENT #HUMANRESOURCES #CHANGE REFERENCE: https://lnkd.in/eYwsMsg8
