Last week, Mayor Steven Del Duca and the City of Vaughan's Economic Development team had the privilege of visiting the Hanon Systems' Fluid Pressure and Controls plant right here in Vaughan. Latest transport news….. Essential engineering works are taking place between 17 and 26 August in the Duddeston area of Birmingham. Track will be replaced, a railway signal relocated and the moving of a section of track are part of the planned upgrades. Services between Birmingham New Street and Leicester, Peterborough, Cambridge and Stansted Airport will be affected as will Cardiff Central and Birmingham New Street to Nottingham and finally Scotland and the North East to Birmingham New Street and the South West. Seven out of twenty UK airports analysed have increased their drop-off fees since last summer according to the RAC. A £1 increase has been made in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and Gatwick airports. Birmingham charges £5 for a 15 minute drop-off. West Midlands Combined Authority members are to discuss the introduction of a new franchising model for the region’s bus network. The current subsidy in place runs out in January 2025. An audit is currently being undertaken and once completed a public consultation will then take place. Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it is stopping production of five models from next year due to their lack of profitability. Only one of Jaguar’s current line-up - the F Place SUV will continue to be made. New vehicles will replace the ones that are being axed, as the company progresses to its all-electric and zero carbon business ambitions. #transport #air #bus #car #business
