Help challenger brands get famous, fast for less with ATL advertising - FREE Insights from scale-ups inc DASH WATER-STRONG ROOTS & NICE WINES Specialise in ATL / OOH / Alternative Media Deals

Got to hand it to Aldi UK ….. They don’t care who they rip off…. if they can do this to the The Coca-Cola Company … what chance has any young challenger brand of protecting their Brand assets?? ….. Maybe time to start seeing getting copied by Aldi as a badge of honour …. Leverage their Fame …. … And execute a judo advertising move by saying….. ‘As seen in Aldi with similar packaging … massively inferior ingredient and under a slight different name’ …. You know you’ve made it when Aldi try stealing your livelihood 🥋💪🏻 #Advertising

If someone petite showed up with brown hair and blue eyes at my house, I wonder would my family be okay with the budget version (even if the cleaning and cooking was barely worse?) #alwaystherealthing “Wherever there's a pool there's always a flirt / whenever there's school, there'll always be homework / wherever there's a beat, there's always a drum / whenever there's fun there's always coca-cola... yeah. / The stars will always shine, the birds will always sing / As long as there is thirst, there's always the real thing” … The Coca-Cola Company have known this for a long time 🎶

I think most people would see that as fair game, but what I have witnessed when shopping there is that they take on some start-up brand like a new artisan bread company or a new healthy drink company or whatever. They stock them on the shelves at a fairly low margin and seem to be supporting local small brands. Then one day you go in and Annie's Homemade Brown Bread is gone and in it's place is Anny's Cottage Bread in almost the same packaging but made for them by one of their usual big suppliers. They seem to have no problem taking out small family run businesses in the same way they are happy to rip-off Cadbury and Coke etc. They let the small guy take all the risk and test the market and if it works they take it from under them.

Is it inferior ingredients? I'll accept their cola might not taste like coke cola but much of their other rip off stuff is equal if not better than.

Like the Hunky Dorys ripoff "Okie Dokies" 😅

Couldn't dissagree more Mark O'Rourke . Young business often have little more than their unique identity to set them apart and if a big incumbent invests in imitating them it is because there is value in it that they want to steal. There is no upside to that apart from a few Instagram posts I suppose. Protect your brand with #Trademarks.

Mark O'Rourke Have you seen Aldi latest? The Biotiful copycat? Everytime I go to Aldi, I am impressed at how they get away with some copycats (almost identical)

Wow, this is as blatant as it gets. Maybe they're relying on people like you to talk about it on social media? Sneaky 😂

A brand has to be bigger than one supermarket chain, Aldi has it’s business model but new brands have a story 🙌🙌
