At 3.45am this morning I had the next door neighbours banging on my door and ringing my door bell. Now this is not a common thing in my sleepy Cambridgeshire village so my hearts racing and I rush down to see what the problem was. Long story short... they disabled their vehicle by accident and needed to get to the airport to take this kids to Euro-Disney. I leant them my girlfriends car for four days and for the next few days I'll be my girlfriends taxi so she can get to work and back as a result. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in our individual lives and forget the importance of the people around us. My neighbours are good neighbours, good people and a lovelly family. They look after us and we look after them. The point I'm trying to make is that its not easy to succeed alone. It's the strength of our communities that propels us forward. This is true in our personal and professional lives. Community is the backbone. It's the network of people who support us, challenge us, and inspire us to be our best selves. When we surround ourselves with like-minded individuals who share our values and aspirations, we create a powerful force for change. This is especially true in todays world where division and difference is the norm. But building a strong community isn't just about what we can gain, it's also about what we can give. By sharing our knowledge, skills, and resources, we can lift each other up and create a rising tide that benefits everyone. Whether it's mentoring a colleague, volunteering for a cause we believe in, or simply being there for a friend in need, every act of kindness and generosity strengthens the fabric of our community. So let's make a commitment to nurturing our communities, both online and off. Let's seek out opportunities to connect, collaborate, and create value for others. Because when we come together, there's no limit to what we can achieve. What does community mean to you? How do you build and maintain the relationships that matter most? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and let's start a conversation about the power of coming together. #community #collaboration #networking #success #leadership

🎥 *Behind the scenes of real work that happens in politics* 🤫🤫 Politics can be fast paced and exciting. But governance? The grind of policy work? That looks a little different. People often confuse the political drama they see in TV with the reality of what happens in state capitals and Washington, DC. Real change doesn’t happen on the campaign trail, it happens in the relationships you build and the commitment you make to show up when others won’t. But that type of work isn’t for everyone. That type of volunteering certainly isn’t. Want to make a difference for a cause you care about? Quit doing it alone. Join a team that knows how to help you maximize your impact while minimizing the barriers to making it happen when it works for you. Here’s the untold reality of life in politics and governance: you have to be ready to play whether it’s convenient or not. 👇🏻👇🏻

An offer I hope no business leader can refuse. But first a short story. It was 2013 and I was CEO of JustPark. We were about 50 people when a bright young colleague messaged me: “Alex, I was thinking that now we’re a bit bigger perhaps we could do some CSR?” “Great! I love the initiative”, I replied, fearing how we could fit anything else in our over-stuffed days. Off she went to look for causes our team could get involved with that would have a measurable social impact, ideally locally. After weeks of searching - we had no options. The moment passed. That’s the problem we’ve solved with Beam for Companies. In 5 minutes, a company can join and support 2 homeless people or refugees each month. Then employees can provide encouragement or advice to the people we support, safely and easily online. https://beam.org/companies We’re working to welcome as many companies as possible before Christmas🎄 🙋🏻♂️So much so, I’ll personally do a conference call with any company to discuss! On the condition they fund people on Beam with a mere £100 per month. (Though if you’re a larger company £1 per employee per month is a good yardstick and message to your team). I’ll then shout out all the companies that have joined in November on LinkedIn! My Calendly link is below. Speak soon 👋 #socialimpact #csr #community

Digital Specialist- ALL I DO IS USE DIGITAL TOOLS TO CLARIFY YOUR MESSAGE TO CUSTOMERS, REDUCE MARKETING EFFORT, OBLITERATE CONFUSION, AND CREATE A WIDE NET FOR GOOD NUMBER OF FISHES.
YES, THE OPENING SAID "VOLUNTEERS ONLY" BUT.... Dear Manager, CEO, HOD, COO... Volunteers are the heart and soul of any organization, driven by passion, dedication, and a desire to make a positive impact. Their selflessness and commitment are invaluable, but it's crucial for us as managers to recognize and appreciate their contributions whether we are making a profit or not. Providing stipends to volunteers, even if modest, sends a powerful message: we value your time, effort, and the difference you're making. It not only eases their financial burdens but also reinforces the belief that their work is meaningful and worth investing in. By doing so, we create a win-win scenario, fostering a stronger, more motivated team that can achieve even greater heights. Remember, it's not just about the stipend; it's about recognizing the immense worth of those who willingly give their time to help others and acknowledging that their efforts are truly priceless. #volunteering #careergrowth #NGO #business
