I was on a call yesterday with Prasanna Meduri discussing the ever evolving and hot topic of AI and its place/uses in Market Research (MR). He very eloquently described three phases of MR - 1. Development = The Academic Phase 2. Fieldwork = The ART/Skill Phase 3. Analysis/Reporting = The Technical Phase Ironically, right after our discussion I saw this article by Dara St. Louis laying out three crucial phases in "Measuring Experiential Brand Activations" ROI. What I found interesting is that no matter what tools or techniques are being used or what industry vertical you find yourself in, Market Research is very much an ART! Like the great artists of history (DE Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, Van Gogh, etc.) each researcher may have their own style, their own backdrop, their own tools of choice, but in the end they each create Insights. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the technicalities/science of the profession that we can forget the simplicity and joy that drew most of us in - CURIOSITY. What’s been going on in the world of experiential marketing in July? Let’s take a look… 💅Warner Bros turned London pink for the UK premiere of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Landmarks including the London Eye and Trafalgar Square were lit up fuschia whilst a pink Tardis landed on the banks of Tower Bridge. 🌸Dior launched their capsule collection with Denim Tears with a global series of giant inflatable installations. Described as an ‘’immersive, multisensory experience’’, the pop-ups used sound, light, and shadow to create an alternate universe for customers. 🥛Oat drink brand JӦRD launched a Chill-Out Zone at Truck Festival as part of a series of festivals. This shaded tent complete with soft cushions, beanbags, and plenty of free samples treats festival-goers to a moment of solace amongst the festival chaos.
