🌟We are excited to Welcome Mary Wassel, LMSW, LNHA as COO for Good Shepherd Communities!🌟 . Ms. Wassel has been active in the Healthcare field for over 25 years, focusing on Long-Term Care services. She received her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Gerontology from SUNY Cortland. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration certificate in Gerontology from Syracuse University. Mary has worked in a wide spectrum of aging services from Retirement Living, Adult Day Care, Home Care, Assisted Living, Hospice Skilled Nursing, Short-Term Rehabilitation Services, and consulting with LeadingAge NY. Ms. Wassel has two daughters; a 19-year-old, who is studying social work at SUNY Oswego and a 16-year-old who is a Junior in High School. She also has three stepchildren, and four, soon be five beautiful step-grandchildren. Mary is very active and loves cycling, swimming, weightlifting, boxing and scrapbooking. She is also currently training for two sprint Triathlons in July. . "I’m delighted to be joining Good Shepherd Communities and look forward to being an integral part of this organization. Although I’ve worked in this field for many years, I remember the first time I decided to pursue a career in health care - specifically in Gerontology - which was greatly influenced by my grandmother. It was then that I decided to do whatever I could to make life better for residents in the facilities I serve. Whether it be administrative changes, legislative challenges, or daily operations, I'm committed to doing whatever is necessary for the good of the Good Shepherd Communities as we work with our teams, our families, and especially our residents." - Mary .
