Great overview on the Latrobe Valley energy transition - more to come in this series!
"All roads lead to the valley" - Andy McCarthy, Founder Gippsland Solar/RACV Solar. Latrobe Valley has the skills and knowledge to make our clean energy future in #Victoria. Our Senior Researcher Rowan Moorey and Project Officer Tejesh Kashyap went to #LatrobeValley to check out all the amazing #cleantech development happening right now. Our companies are already producing #heatpumps, key infrastructure and providing #supplychain services for our #offshorewind projects. An Australian #battery manufacturing industry could create over 44,000 jobs and $57 billion in GDP in 2035 nationwide (https://lnkd.in/gUmZBzRG), and The Latrobe Valley is a key regional centre for cleantech #manufacturing and #renewableenergy generation. It has featured in our work around REIP locations and innovative cleantech projects in our Cleantech Showcase (https://lnkd.in/gZV7wYmS) Thanks so much to Ashley Hall, Andy McCarthy, Trent Fairweather, Sue Stranger, Dan Musil, Scott Riches, Jarrod Whittaker, Paul Johnson, Sarah Altmann, Luke Wilkinson, Glen McColl (ACEcD), Daryl Brooke

Transforming brownfields into brightfields through solar development is not just an advancement in clean energy — it represents a crucial step in environmental remediation and sustainable land use. Brownfields, often carrying the scars of industrial use with potential contamination, pose environmental and health risks. However, repurposing these sites for solar energy production can halt the degradation of these lands and protect ecosystems. By installing solar panels, we're not only generating renewable energy but also preventing further contamination and promoting land recovery. This process of revitalization plays a pivotal role in enhancing local environments. By turning brownfields to brightfields, CEP Renewables is at the forefront of this beneficial transformation. This approach increases land value and creates cleaner communities, reducing carbon emissions and fostering healthier living conditions. It's a testament to how we can repurpose land with a troubled past into sources of sustainable energy, setting a precedent for future generations to follow. Follow along as we explore more benefits in this series on turning brownfields into brightfields with solar. #CEPRenewables #CEPRenewables #LandfillSolar #SolarEngineering #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy

Today is the (lucky) 13th anniversary of one of the greatest projects I've ever had the privilege to be part of - the 144-panel solar thermal project atop the Saint Paul RiverCentre. So celebrating with a little look back and a BIG thank you to the partners that made this possible - Kate S., Bill Huepenbecker, Jim Giebel, Anne Hunt, Chris Coleman, Brian Ross, Stacy Miller, Kathy Ross Pavek, Jora Bart, Anders Rydaker, Ken Smith, Bjorn Gangeness, Ray Watts, Jeff Volovsek, Joe Lucas, Jason Coughlin, and the teams from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (Solar America Cities), TKDA, Pioneer Power, Sheehy Construction Company, and Arcon Solar. And bonus shout outs to any other team members from Ever-Green Energy that made that project a reality. This was a first-of-its-kind project in the U.S. and where I cut my teeth understanding how difficult it is to be the first with emerging technology at this type of scale. Spoiler alert - it's hard. But that list of partners above is how we made it happen. It's why the Grid Catalyst program is built on a similar partnership model. And it's why some of you may have seen the project poster, designed by AlyssA Greening, behind me in a Zoom meeting. Extra fun to see current collaborators - Peter Frosch and Gregg Mast in these pics, showing up for innovation and clean energy at our launch event. Now two of the most crucial partners for driving energy and cleantech innovation in Minnesota. #AccelerateNorth #demo2deploy #solar #partnership #innovation #Minnesota #WeNeedCleanMN

"Renewable energy is critical for combating climate change. We need innovation and investment in clean technologies to create a more sustainable world." ~ Bill Gates We take great pleasure in introducing the ninth episode x`of our ongoing series, titled "Sustainable Journeys," which delves into the innovative strides of #Dogwood #Creek #Solar by Solar Proponent LLC in the realm of sustainable energy. Dogwood Creek Solar is a pioneering force, marking a significant leap towards a cleaner and greener future. Located in Bastrop County, Texas, #USA, this ambitious project is poised to span approximately 10,000 acres, with an estimated power generation capacity of 506 MWdc (435 MWac). Bolstered by a substantial investment of $780 million, Dogwood Creek Solar epitomizes not just a project, but a beacon of the profound impact that investment in sustainable initiatives can yield. Beyond its impressive scale, the Dogwood Creek Solar Project strategically aligns with various U.S. federal tax incentives, including the Renewable Electricity Production Tax Credit (PTC), Investment Tax Credit (ITC), Residential Energy Credit, and Modified Accelerated Cost-Recovery System (MACRS). These incentives, combined with recent legislative milestones such as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, are catalyzing unprecedented investments in clean energy solutions nationwide. Nevertheless, Dogwood Creek Solar's mission extends beyond mere infrastructure development; it aims to nurture a sustainable ecosystem where rural communities thrive, and access to affordable clean energy proliferates. We extend a warm invitation for you to engage in the discourse and contribute your valuable insights if you have been involved in renewable energy projects. Together, let us pave the way towards a brighter, more sustainable future. Together, let's illuminate the world! 🌍💡Stay tuned for more enlightening episodes as we explore the sustainable frontiers and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow. 🌎🔆 #DogwoodCreekSolar #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #CleanTech #GreenFuture #Sustainability #InfrastructureInvestment #CleanEnergyRevolution #LinkedInPost

Westbridge received $47.6-milliion for its Georgetown Solar project in Vulcan County, representing 92 per cent of the total purchase price. Mytilineos had paid 3 per cent upon signing the deal earlier this year and will pay the 5-per-cent balance when the project starts commercial operations. Mytilineos will pay between $217-million and $346-million for the five projects, the combined projects will have 1.4 gigawatts of capacity, enough to power 200,000 homes. At Worthen, sustainability isn't just a goal—it's a commitment to doing what's right for our planet and future generations. As Earth Month has kicked off, we're thrilled to share the incredible impact of our solar panel initiatives across multiple plants. Last year alone, our Clinton, Nashua North, and Grand Rapids plants collectively generated a whopping 1,453 MWh of clean, renewable energy. By harnessing the power of the sun, we've avoided the equivalent of 677 tonnes of CO2e emissions, which is like planting 16,710 trees or offsetting the emissions from 2,590,699 vehicle miles. 🌳🚗 Collectively, these arrays have generated an astounding 8,922 MWh of energy over their lifetime, showcasing our dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. As we continue to innovate and lead in our industry, we remain steadfast in our mission to prioritize the planet and pave the way for a brighter, cleaner future. Happy Earth Month from all of us at Worthen Industries! 🌎💚 #EarthMonth #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #SolarPower
