I work in beverage applications, so this year I'm going to go through some national beverage holidays, enjoy!
January 16th is Prohibition Remembrance Day:
For some PRE-history: 1657, The general court of Massachusetts bans the sale of alcohol to Native Americans and during the1800s, the first attempt to ban alcohol by Protestants was made.
1918, Congress enforces the Wartime Prohibition Act, banning alcohol above 1.28%. Prohibition in the United States was a nationwide constitutional ban on the production, importation, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages from 1920 to 1933. Then "finally" in 1933 the 21st amendment lifted the alcohol ban by overruling the 18th amendment. - FUNFACT: Prohibition cost the federal government about $11 billion in taxes, and it took over $300 million to legalize the bill.
Today there is a decrease in alcohol consumption, for health and personal choices: Low - No ABV
