Celebrating Hispanic Unity of Florida's 10th Entrepreneurship Anniversary! At Latin2Latin Marketing + Communications, LLC., supporting small businesses is not just a part of our core values, it's a passion that drives us every day. We believe that small minority businesses play a vital role in our communities, and we are particularly proud to support Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. (HUF) on this milestone occasion. Did you know that according to the US Census, minority owned businesses represent 20% or 13,236 of the total 67,000 businesses in Broward County? This statistic is a clear reflection of the incredible impact that small minority owners have on our county's social, political, and economic sectors. In light of this, we are constantly challenging ourselves to think differently and find innovative ways to engage with these business owners. How can we better serve their needs? How can we support their growth and success? How can we collaborate to make a positive impact on our community? Here are a few ideas that come to mind: 1️⃣ Foster mentorship programs: Encourage successful business owners to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs from minority backgrounds. Sharing experiences, insights, and advice can be immensely valuable in helping them navigate the challenges of starting and running a business. 2️⃣ Collaborate on community events: Organize networking events, workshops, or seminars specifically tailored to small minority businesses. This not only provides them with valuable knowledge and resources, but also creates a supportive community where they can connect and learn from one another. 3️⃣ Advocate for policy changes: Engage with local politicians and policymakers to highlight the importance of supporting small minority businesses through fair legislation, tax incentives, and access to funding. By working together, we can create an environment that nurtures their growth and success. 4️⃣ Philanthropic partnerships: Partner with small minority businesses on philanthropic initiatives that align with their values and goals. By combining forces, we can make a greater impact and contribute to the betterment of our community. Let's embrace the joyful challenge of supporting small minority businesses and make a difference together. Together, let's empower and uplift these entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our economy and catalysts for positive change. Community Engagement: Encourage participation in community projects. This not only instills a sense of social responsibility but also allows young talents to understand the impact of their entrepreneurial endeavors on the community. Celebrate Achievements: Recognize and celebrate the achievements of young entrepreneurs. Positive reinforcement boosts confidence and motivates them to continue exploring their entrepreneurial potential. Create a Supportive Ecosystem: Foster a supportive environment at home, in school, and in the community. A positive ecosystem encourages experimentation, resilience, and a willingness to take risks.

Practitioners will take the stage as the main speakers for the webinar. The primary aim is to amplify local voices of practitioners to present their first-hand experiences and invaluable insights. Speakers will delve into three themes: storytelling with positive and authentic emotions in Sport for Development and Peace (SDP), effective and sustainable community ownership, and entrepreneurial mindset and pathways in/through SDP. Additionally, one speaker will share the story of their unique journey from being a SDP participant to a SDP practitioner.

As a daughter of immigrants, being the 'first' in many aspects is both exhilarating and isolating. Your triumphs: speaking to an audience of 1000 people, reaching 28,000 members on the Amigahood app, launching your first product, securing a $100K grant for Latina entrepreneurs, these big wins often feel lost in translation when shared with family. I used to yearn for my family to grasp the depth of these accomplishments. Their muted reactions felt like a void where celebration should be. But I've learned a profound truth: their inability to fully comprehend isn't a lack of pride—it's a testament to how far I've ventured from the familiar path they knew. The realization was liberating: I was seeking validation in the wrong places. My family's silence wasn't disapproval; it was the quiet awe of watching someone navigate uncharted waters. To my fellow first-gen trailblazers: 1. Your journey is valid, even if it's not fully understood. 2. Build a circle of friends who resonate with your path. 3. Celebrate your wins, big and small. These esteemed partners include the Oxford/Lafayette Economic Development Foundation, Higher Purpose Co., Mississippi State University E-Center, The Community Development Foundation, JSU/The Bean Path, MSU E-Center Vicksburg, Mississippi Polymer Institute, and The Meeting Place. Together, our partners host a regional pitch event where a minimum of $7,500 in cash prizes is awarded. Entrepreneurs selected to pitch at these events are automatically considered for inclusion in the main cohort. This main cohort consists of up to 10 companies, each receiving a minimum of $25,000 in the form of a SAFE investment. 🙌 I don't think I've interviewed any Entrepreneurs as young as 11 years old….. So I just wanted to start by asking you, obviously about the business, what was the inspiration? Because Elderflower cordial is a very unique choice for a business. What sparked your interest in this particular product. How did it all come about? 🎤These were Vic Motune’s opening remarks when he interviewed my daughter for the piece yet to be published in The Voice Newspaper about her blossoming cordial business. 🍾The story unfolds during the conversation as she shared that crafting elderflower cordial has been a family summer activity for years in our home. But as she wanted more pocket money this summer, she decided it was time to embark on selling the delightful cordial as a way to start earning. ♻️What's truly extraordinary? She embraced eco-consciousness by repurposing glass bottles from neighbours and local pubs for packaging her product. 📝 This is a testament to the idea that children can become what they see. This is why I bang on in my area of work in adoption and fostering on why inclusive representation matters at all levels especially amongst the decision makers. 💪 I am so proud of my young lady, she is proving that youthful ambition knows no bounds! 🌟 Stay tuned for her ongoing elderflower adventures and a cascade of visibility she is receiving as a result of her entrepreneurial inspiration!
