Lots of work to do before September when we aim to move our Tier 1-3 programming to full year and remove the mid-year summer tryout. National research shows that reading for at least 15 minutes per day can significantly boost students’ literacy growth — and family support is vital to ensuring students maintain a consistent daily reading habit. Springboard Collaborative, a nonprofit founded and led by teachers, is strengthening students’ reading support systems by connecting parents and teachers and equipping families with the tools and resources to coach reading at home. IRL programming for your community can take a lot of work and you may not get the "scale" you get with other types of programming, but there's no better way to create community connections than getting people to interact in meaningful ways through in-person events.
