Minimal sufficiency is a crucial principle in robotics. Consider this: When you set out for a ride, if you have a 2-wheeler and something goes wrong, the first advice you'll get is to get a bigger engine or even a 4X4. When you sit down for dinner, despite what's already on your plate, there will always be suggestions for more accompaniments. When you go for a run, recommendations abound for a mobile holder band, hydration band, protein bar, energy drink, music playlist, headphones, and more. But the question you need to ask is: Do you really need all that? What is minimally sufficient for your use case? If one extra side dish or one extra protein bar is truly going to be the make-or-break factor, then go for it. Otherwise, stick to simplicity—first principles. The same applies to mobile robots and their payloads. Just because we can build and design octacopters doesn't mean a quadrotor won't work for your use case. In fact, a unicopter might be just what you need. When someone brings a problem to me where they want to employ robots, I always start at the problem itself. What is it that you want to do? What is the robot going to be doing? What does the environment look like? Is it static or dynamic? Are there other players? What's your budget? It's then that we draw up a minimally sufficient robotic system and test it out in the field. The only time I wouldn't approach a problem this way is when you own oil wells and have an infinite supply of funds 😂

WAKE UP - WAKE UP EUROPEAN INDUSTRY STILL NO AWARENES AND NO ACTION My Opinion: The European industry’s “sleeping beauty” in AI based bipedal humanoid robotics is a complex phenomenon caused by a combination of a lack of industrial integration, reluctance to take risks and regulatory hurdles. Europe, its research and its industries principally have the potential to wake up and take a leading role in this area if we manage to make strategic investments, promote collaboration and specifically transform innovations into marketable products. Humanoid robotics will undoubtedly be a central part of the future industry in B2B and Consumer Markets. Europe should seize this opportunity to assert itself on the global stage by 2030 latest 2035 with maturity for mass production. If not ... I leave it to you, to imagine the consequences.
