One thing I vow to do is once I’m in a position to help people, my line of communication will ALWAYS be open. If I can directly help you I will make it a priority to put anybody who needs a job or needs asositance with getting into their career to the right person. So many times in the past and even now I’ve reached out to “make connections” with people and have been left unanswered or ignored. I know I’m not the only one in that position. It sucks and leaves a VERY bad taste in your mouth as a jobseeker. But on the other end when you take a leap to contact or reach out to someone and they give you a name of someone whom can better assist you or even try to point you in the right direction it means the world. It also shows that there is a real people behind that profile picture. To those people I am very grateful! In closing I just want to say that there is always time and opportunity to be a olive branch to someone who is in need and it doesn’t take much to TRY and be personable. Job seeking is hard! Jobseekers are nervous and to send a message to a recruiter, hiring manager or even a professional is nerve wrecking. We’re absolutely terrified by the gaps in our careers and not perfect CVs. But when it comes to the job search, all those HRs don’t even bother to formally refuse your application, not mentioning of any feedback. Nearly 20 years ago in St Petersburg, Russia I was changing the letting industry, since Letting Agents had been the most useless and pointless participants of the deals. Getting into the job search recently I’m totally disappointed and even disgusted by the most of the HRs' approach - simple ignorance and nothing else. How do your clients stand it? You’re wasting their time, money... I’ve been hiring a lot myself, I always spent some time to go through applications and always clicked “decline” when the candidates were not right. And the chances that I use external recruitment agency when hiring in future are nearly equal to nil, because I’ve met only 3 decent recruiters in the last 20 years. My point is. Today HR must be reinvented and reset as Human Relationships. Stop treat people as resources! #HR

6 weeks into my job search and this is what I have learnt so far… There are definitely less opportunities around than I’ve seen in the past. Possibly due to us nearly being at the start of a new financial year (so you expect recruitment freezes), but I also think people aren’t risking a job change with such economic turmoil still on-going. If you ask a third party for the company name and salary before agreeing to discuss a position, radio silence seems to be the next stage! 😂 Applying for a position you are more than qualified to perform, yet not even getting a rejection email, just seeing the position re-advertised a week or so later. Job searching in today's market is no joke. It's a full-time job in itself, requiring determination, creativity, and a whole lot of resilience. After facing hundreds of rejections, I've learned that simply applying to job postings isn't always enough. So what's next? How do you get your foot in the door at a company that hasn't even glanced at your resume? For me, the answer has been reaching out directly to hiring managers, CEO's, and other industry professionals within companies I'm interested in. I spend hours researching and crafting personalized messages that showcase my skills and passion for their work. It's a shot in the dark, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. Despite the lack of immediate success, I refuse to give up. I know that all it takes is one company that sees my potential and is willing to give me a chance. So I'll keep hustling, keep reaching out, and keep believing that my dream job is out there waiting for me. You likely don't want the lost time/earnings of a "numbers game" job hunt Avoid it with a strategy that has 3 things as a minimum: 1) Get clear on what you want: ❤ Salary Hours Working pattern Title/level Then market everything accordingly, have conversations with only the recruiters and about only the jobs, that make sense. Form relationships with the best ones. 2) Market yourself clearly: 🙋♂️ Your CV Your LinkedIn profile Your elevator pitch Standard answers to screening/interview questions All of this should be tweaked, refined, rehearsed, and designed to land what you really want. 3) Stick to the plan: ➡ Seek out the right roles Apply (and log your applications) Follow-up Chase and log specific feedback Refine and improve You deserve to target your efforts and focus on what you really want. You're a human being, you won't have the time or energy to apply for endless roles until something sticks. You're a David Beckham free kick, you're not a Sunday-leaguers hit and hope.
