Portfolio Associate @ Blue Meridian | Former Bain | Public Policy @ Princeton

Life update: I recently left Bain & Company and San Francisco. I am so grateful for the time I spent in the Bay— I learned so much and met really amazing people. I wanted to share some of my biggest learnings about support. ▪️Support starts with listening. It doesn’t mean jumping to conclusions or answers, but rather asking questions like "What do you need? What are you hoping to get out of this experience? How can I support you?" ▪️When it comes to asking for support, use clear, direct communication. It may be cliche but closed mouths don’t get fed. Be specific when you’re asking for support or an opportunity — is there a skill you need help building? Or a relationship you want to tap into? Why? The same is true when giving support— what are all the options available in a situation? are there clear benefits / drawbacks? The more open and honest channels of communication can be, the stronger the relationship will likely be. ▪️Show up and show out! I am grateful to have seen so many managers take steps to show up for teammates, from instituting team lunch and learns to celebrate a colleague's amazing talent for photography to stepping into an ERG leadership position to amplify voices after recognizing how critical the ERG was to one of their team member's experience. These moments truly rose to "A Bainie Never Lets Another Bainie Fail" principle, and it was so heart warming to be a part of. Thank you so much to the incredible leaders, mentors, and friends who helped teach me these lessons and showed me what it feels like to be supported in a professional setting. Shout outs in particular to Tanvee Rao Erica Smith-Goetz Anna Sturkey (she/her) Carolina Oliveira Jessica Ahn Gian Vito Trinchera Dorothy Tovar, PhD Laurence Lemaire Michelle Carroll Andrew Wisenberg Savion Jean-Pierre Casi Carlson (Lumbra) Casey Taylor Kate Richey Bennett Evelyn Manyatta Andy C. Cindy Tang Anisa Choksi Nicholas Fenech Thank you all for helping to make Bain an incredible place to begin my career. I am very grateful for the support each of you gave me. As for what’s next, I am so excited to join Blue Meridian Partners this week on their Justice & Mobility Team in New York. Stay tuned for more updates! 🥳
