National Sales Director - Mitie Property Services UK Ltd (Painting / Fabric / Fire Protection / Asbestos / MEP / AC)
Happy Monday! 2 certificates in one delivery… 👩🏻💼Firstly, thank you to Jacqui Wordsworth and the brilliant Women into Construction CIC team for allowing us to be a part of this incredible journey in supporting such a worthy programme across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. 🚀 In addition, yesterday marked my 5-year anniversary at Mitie. In 5 years, I've navigated through several different roles and worn a multitude of hats. Reflecting on these past 5 years, here’s a few of the lessons I’ve learned: 🤝You don’t need X number of year’s experience to land a job in a different industry. 😔😊If you’re not happy at work, find another job, I promise you it isn’t as scary as you might think! 👥Company Culture is absolutely critical to a positive mindset and feeling of belonging. Thank you Mitie Property Services UK Ltd ❤️ When you work with people who make each day a joy, the days pass quickly. Contrary to the common belief that friendships and business don't mix, I've found that having genuine connections at work is essential. Building a strong support network within and outside of the workplace is crucial for navigating both the highs and lows. These connections provide the necessary support during challenging times and contribute to a positive work environment. 💡Embrace Growth Beyond Your Comfort Zone: Stepping outside of our comfort zones can be daunting, but it's where true growth occurs. 💪 Embrace Failure: Failure is never easy to accept, but it is in those moments that the most profound lessons are learned. It's essential to hold ourselves accountable for our failures, but equally important to recognise them as stepping stones towards improvement. 🌟 Thrive through Authenticity: Throughout my career, I've worked in environments where I felt the need to conform and hide my true self. However, at Mitie, I've been fortunate to work in a place that celebrates me. They have empowered me to be my true self, tailoring my work to leverage my strengths, and with support, I've received invaluable coaching and mentorship, enabling me to take ownership of my development. ⬆️ Embracing Ups and Downs: Every journey includes its fair share of ups and downs, and my time at Mitie has been no exception. However, what matters most is how we approach the challenging moments. Here’s to many more years with an incredible team!

🎉 Exciting milestone alert! 🎉 Last week marked a significant moment in my career journey – I am thrilled to celebrate my 3-year work anniversary at Forage! 🚀✨ Time truly flies when you're passionate about what you do, and these past three years have been nothing but an adventure! Reflecting on this journey, I wanted to share 4 key lessons I've learned during my time at Forage: 1️⃣ Adaptability is Key: Working in a scale-up company like Forage has taught me the importance of adaptability. The landscape is ever-changing, and being able to experiment and pivot quickly, embrace change, learn fast and think on your feet is crucial. This is particularly true of a customer success manager working on the front line with our employers who are also adapting to the changing needs of the early talent market. 2️⃣ Collaboration Amplifies Impact: The power of collaboration cannot be overstated. Working closely with diverse teams, both at Forage and on the client side, is what I love the most about being a customer success manager! Harnessing the collective intelligence and skills of a diverse group accelerates our ability to solve complex challenges. I feel so lucky to work alongside such smart and enthusiastic people at Forage. I learn so much from them every day! 3️⃣ Uplifting Next-gen Talent: Witnessing the impact our employers have on the growth and development of early talent has been immensely rewarding. I absolutely love uncovering the success stories from students who are hired by our employers and hearing how Forage helped to boost their career confidence! Working for a company with a mission like Forage is what motivates me to do my best work. 4️⃣ Resilience Triumphs Over Challenges: Challenges are inevitable, especially in a scaling company like Forage. However, what I've learned is that resilience is the key to overcoming them and emerging on the other side stronger. Embracing setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning has allowed me to grow. I have noticed the same resilience in my colleagues and believe that by overcoming challenges together we become a much stronger team! I am incredibly grateful to be part of the Forage family, surrounded by brilliant people and a leadership team with growth mindsets! 🚀🌟 Looking forward to 2024!!!

🌟 Celebrating Milestones: A Journey of Growth and Gratitude 🌟 Today marks another year of the day I came up with idea of ‘The Vertical’ and what a journey it has been! Reflecting on the past year, I’m filled with a sense of gratitude and accomplishment. Each project, challenge, and success has been a step on a path of immense learning and growth. (Why this celebration is more than just a date on the calendar) Every year, this date is a milestone that symbolizes more than just tenure. It represents the challenges we’ve faced, the obstacles we’ve overcome, and the knowledge we’ve gained as a team. It’s a testament to the resilience, dedication, and hard work that each day requires. But here’s what truly makes these milestones worth celebrating: • The People: From mentors who’ve guided me, to colleagues who’ve become friends, it’s the people I’ve met along this journey who’ve made every challenge worthwhile and every success sweeter. • The Growth: Both personal and professional growth that came from pushing boundaries, embracing new ideas, and stepping out of my comfort zone. • The Impact: Knowing that the work we do makes a difference, contributes to our team’s goals, and aligns with my personal values and career aspirations. (And here’s to many more) As I celebrate this day, I am reminded that the journey is far from over. There are more challenges to face, more to learn, and even more opportunities to make an impact. The Vertical

Army Veteran | Navistar People & Culture | DEI Consultant | Organizational Strategy & Transformation
Lessons learned as I reflect back on my one year anniversary at Navistar Inc 💡 Goals are good if you want to win once. Systems are best if you want to win repeatedly. Although goals are essential and necessary for clarity and getting us started, they won't solve lingering pain points or bridge gaps. Focusing on developing/improving systems and processes is the secret sauce to long-term success. Ultimately, we don't rise to the level of our goals. We fall to the level of our systems. 💡Don't worry about changing people's mindset. Focus on changing the mechanics within the system and by default it will yield the desired outcomes. This is particularly relevant for #Diversity, #Equity, #Inclusion, and #Belonging initiatives post the Supreme Court's repeal of Affirmative Action. DEI isn't a marketing stunt. DEI isn't a handout, DEI isn't about lowering standards. DEI is about embracing, unifying and leveraging our diversity to perform at the highest levels of creativity and innovation while in a welcoming and inclusive environment where EVERYONE can thrive and be their authentic self. 💡 No one succeeds alone. Giving credit to others doesn't undermine you. It's actually a sign of your confidence and humility. Transitioning from tackling projects to shaping strategic priorities. It's been an incredible journey from intern to full-time employee! Photo credit: Camarri Lane #RidewithNavistar #DEI

Just a few days ago, I was celebrating my birthday. It was rather unique, as I found myself inundated with compliments that made me reflect on my professional journey. What a thoughtful gift from my colleagues! Having an environment where processes are streamlined, new tools are embraced, and where each team member perceives empowerment has been the vision I've always worked towards. We've had our moments of triumph, like when we successfully integrated Notion into our workflow, but I see every day as an opportunity for improvement. Driving financial growth while cultivating a positive work culture has been challenging yet rewarding. From launching high-ticket products to diversifying revenue sources, I've always trusted in growth, improvement, and variety. I'm proud that quality has never been compromised, regardless of the pace we set. The mantra we often refer back to? 'Structure, optimization and simplification'. I believe in the power of delegation and trust, ensuring everyone has a role they can shine in. It's highly rewarding to see a team that's self-driven and passionate. And while I value productivity, I also understand the importance of a light-hearted work environment. The journey collectively has been about growth, learning and surpassing ourselves. And as grateful as I am for past successes, I can't help but be excited for the future.
