If you don't have: 🟢 Approvals to go to market 🟢 Approvals for budget/salary to offer 🟢 A clear interview process 🟢 Know who's involved in your interviews 🟢 A clear feedback loop with your recruitment partner 🟢 A clear value proposition Then please don't go to market. Most hiring managers are terrible interviewers! Controversial? I don’t think so. ·       They have little to no access to interview training; ·       Time poor to prepare properly; ·       Often there isn’t alignment internally with different stakeholders; ·       Rely on “gut-feel” and whether they “liked” a candidate; ·       Off-the-shelf questions that aren’t tailored to the role and outcomes. When you work with a retained recruiter, you invest in their highly developed interviewing and assessment skills. They’ll work with the hiring manager and other stakeholders to get to the core values, behaviors and outcomes of a role and person and use this to tailor specific assessments for candidates to ensure that any candidate decision is based on data points to help support a hiring decision.
