It doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Obviously I never played the tournament here Alston, but you know, this would between Oak Ridge Country Club and Holston Hills to sort of where I grew up, where I consider home and it's it's nice to have Professional Golf in Knoxville and thank the. The tour of the course, everything like it's a great venue and it's, you know, exciting to see, you know, kind of it all comes to fruition. I've never been in town when the tournaments been here, so it's cool to kind of have a chance to see it and see what it's all about. And hopefully people are enjoying the course that's near and dear to my heart. Well, I just like the environment of these big championships. You know, you come out and you see this, this whole, you see all the grandstands, you see fans everywhere. You see the vendors and all the volunteers. I mean, they've got endless amounts of volunteers here with through visit Knoxville. And it's just it's just a big family type environment and it's a lot of fun. And it's good to see spectators come in that have never been here before and get their impression of the overall championship and Holston Hills. That's been really nice. Haven't Spencer Cross and Van Holmgren here as members and being able to participate just adds a whole new environment, especially to our member suite that we have here at 18 Green. They've they've got behind those guys and they've been cheering for them. I can't thank our staff enough for everything that they're doing. Ryan Blair's team, with all the storms that we've had and we had water in the fairways and the bunkers and the effort that they put in was just unbelievable. They were squeezing fairways. Doing all these things and then our golf staff, our FB team, they've just completely rolled with every change that's come our way due to the weather problems, no one's complained. They just show up, just roll right through and keep on working hard. And it's just really been, you know, it's been a good thing for us because we're a close team anyway, but it just kind of makes us feel a little bit more close than we are already. And it's, it's just been a fun tournament. We're all working hard together. We lost yesterday morning one of our our own. I don't know if you guys heard the news, but somebody who. Went through a lot of difficult things. I would challenge everybody here, and I'm going to do this myself as well. Each day, say something nice. To someone you love and also make it a point to say something nice to somebody you do not even know. Welcome to Raleigh Country Club for the final round of the UNC Health Championship presented by Stitch. Thank you for coming to the honorary 1:00 PM tee time. Now on the tee. From Raleigh, NC. Grayson Murray. It's awesome. This was actually my home course growing up so I feel like I have a bit of an advantage but just to be back as always cool and have a lot of family and friends out here to support me which is awesome. They made a couple holes longer which was awesome, and then the green complexes. Still pretty tricky but I think they did a good job. I think the McConnell experience has been fantastic for us. All the volunteers, the staff, the course maintenance, everything's been phenomenal. Some of the best we've played all year. So it's been really enjoyable. And you know, you go to somewhere that you know, it's run by the people that know what they're doing. It's been, it's been a lot of fun. Ohh it's wonderful. I mean I always love coming back here. Brings back fond memories of when I was a kid playing and practicing out here of course obviously has changed, but those memories still last. It's actually been better this year than last, which I didn't think was possible. So it's they're all out here having a wonderful time and I love feeding off their energy. You know, easy.

The final round of the UNC Health Championship is underway at Raleigh Country Club! Our agronomy staff deserves a standing ovation for all of their hard work this week. Hosting tournaments like this one requires extra help and more time away from home. The tireless effort our staff and volunteers have put forth to keep the course in pristine condition does not go unnoticed. 🌾⛳

This time last year, Grayson Murray was competing in the UNC Health Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. We honor him this week by wearing green ribbons in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, displaying a golf bag on the No. 1 tee in his memory, and placing a plaque outside our golf shop to showcase his second PGA TOUR victory. Although he's not with us today, we will never forget the impact he made on our members, staff, fellow McConnell Golf scholars, and the golf community. 💚 ⛳
This morning, golfers, staff, volunteers and spectators stood in unity as the Korn Ferry Tour paid tribute to PGA TOUR player and former McConnell Golf scholar Grayson Murray with a moment of silence. His passing has impacted us greatly as Grayson visited Holston Hills Country Club in 2023 and participated in the Visit Knoxville Open. We join the entire golf community in offering our deepest condolences to his family. Grayson will be greatly missed, but his legacy of helping our program and inspiring junior golfers to follow their dreams will continue to live on.
