Since April, the rise of anti-refugee sentiment in Lebanon has fueled raids and security measures targeted at unregistered people in the country. For many Syrian refugees seeking health care at MSF clinics in Baalbek-Hermel governorate, the decision to seek medical help is riddled with fear of potential consequences. Our teams have been providing free high-quality medical services northeastern Lebanon for over a decade, but we’re seeing the numbers of missed medical appointments soar as fear among the refugee community intensifies.  https://lnkd.in/eUdvwrWi

In Central African Republic (CAR), there are about six doctors for every 100,000 people—which is one of the lowest rates of health care coverage in the world. Since 2024, our teams have been facilitating essential health care access to remote communities in Bambari, a town in the Oaka region where violence is causing the collapse of health facilities and health care. Now, MSF supported health centers in CAR are facing serious shortages of medicines, vaccines, and essential equipment. We need more organizations to step up and support remote communities.
