What does 'canonical' mean when it comes to SEO? Imagine you have a favorite magazine. Now, imagine there are five different copies of this magazine on your shelf, each with a different cover, but inside, it's all the same content. A "canonical URL" says, "This is the one official version." This matters on the web because very often the same content can be found on different pages or URLs. This can make search engines like Google scratch their heads, wondering which version is the real deal to show people. By using a canonical URL, you tell search engines, "This is the primary version of my content." And this helps to: 🤔 Avoid Confusion: It ensures that search engines don’t get mixed up and split the importance of your content across multiple versions. 🦺 Boost Visibility: By pointing to one main URL, your content stands a better chance of ranking higher in search results since it's no longer competing with itself. 😊 Improve Trust: When search engines and visitors know which version of your site is the real one, they trust your URL. In short, a canonical URL helps your website shout, "Here I am! This is the main page!" Having canonical URLs is smart move that makes your online presence stronger and clearer for both search engines and visitors. Have questions? Send a message or leave a comment. #canonicalurls #seo

What is Schema markup? Simply put, schema markup is like giving special labels to parts of your website so that search engines can better understand the content on each page. Think of it as adding name tags to different pieces of information. With these labels, search engines can show your website content in more helpful ways to people when they search for things. Imagine you have a business and you want people to find your address, phone number, or hours of operation easily. Schema markup helps make this happen. When search engines get these clear labels, your website can stand out more and attract more visitors. Using schema markup gets your site noticed and makes it easier for people to find the information they need. This can be a big boost to your organization, driving more traffic and success online. #schemamarkup #schema #seo

FYI: Google Business Profile chat is going bye-bye on July 31st, 2024. 🎉 If you are a business owner, and are unaware of this feature, don't worry, all you likely missed were thousands of SPAM messages. If you did know about this feature, and received legitimate customer messages from it, you can download the chat history. That's all for now. #googlebusinessprofile #googlemybusiness #localmarketing

Creating AI-generated images without the proper prompts can lead to some interesting artwork. Can you guess which image was created by the different prompts? One image was prompted for just 'hot dogs', the other was prompted for 'footlong ball park hot dog with ketchup in a steamed bun'. Maybe someone can get inspired to create a new type of hot dog. #ai #aiimages

How can I use local SEO to attract more clients to my barber shop? 💈 Local SEO is essential for your barber shop to attract local clients. To get more customers from local search, do the following... 💈 Claim your Google Business Profile and make sure your shop's information is accurate and complete. Add lots of photos of the interior, exterior, and of hair styles that customers can expect to get. 💈 Encourage customers to leave reviews on Better Business Bureau and other review platforms. Add QR codes to every mirror that link directly to your online business profiles. 💈 Include your shop's location and nearby landmarks on your website's content, page titles, and page descriptions. When you list your city and state, it makes it clear exactly where your shop is located online. 💈 Use local keywords that include your city in your SEO strategy to appear in location-specific searches. Barber in San Diego, CA and Men's Haircuts in San Diego are just a few examples of local keywords. Have questions or need help? Reach out anytime or leave a comment.
