Best time to take PTO is before you need to take PTO.

It would be surprising if no one had challenged unlimited PTO on the basis that it’s distributed in a discriminatory manner. Of course, employers love unlimited PTO, which is obviously not unlimited. Yet they always say they crack down on people who abuse the policy. If you crack down, that means you limit the number of PTO days allowed under the “unlimited” policy. That sounds like a scam to me. If there’s a maximum number of PTO days that can be taken, why not publicize it? Why not write it into the policy? Because “unlimited PTO” sounds better, that’s why
