Sorry but in 1984 MTEC (Matsushita Technology Center), under Adam Yokoi assigned me to develop Traffic control systems using loop sensors and laser to direct and monitor traffic through intersections. In addition we were working on IN VEHICLE communications and driver interface systems. Yes IN !(1884 and 1985. We had several alliances with Honda and Toyota and advanced to the prototype stage for in vehicle interfaces. MTEC was WAY ahead of its time. When Adam Yokoi left, we last our leader and the glue that held our dynamic organization together. The managers that followed were substandard and politically driven rather than concept driven, and sadly we never recovered our vision and foresight. BUT we WERE there FIRST, and THAT is what counts. I remember working with Kyushu Matsushita Electric and Kotobuki Matsushita Electric who provided their expertise and alliances with the Japanese automakers and the prototype and concept generation. It was a fun time to be alive in MECA at that time.
