I'm thrilled to share with my network that I have recently completed an enriching internship with the Slingshot Group (Thailand). This experience has provided me with invaluable insights to grow professionally and personally. Over the last 3 months, I've had the privilege of working in an international business setting, where I contributed to transformative projects that challenged and inspired me. Our team embarked on a journey to conduct detailed customer journey analysis and evaluations, which involved engaging in insightful client interviews. By delving deep into these processes, we were able to offer critical recommendations aimed at significantly enhancing customer experiences and driving business success. This incredible opportunity not only broadened my cultural understanding but also required us to approach complex business challenges from a global perspective. It taught me the importance of considering diverse viewpoints and the value of holistic problem-solving in an international context. I recently concluded my internship at Rollz International, and what an enriching journey it has been! 💫 Project Highlights 🔍 A significant highlight was conducting a comprehensive Market Research Project aimed at Strategic Planning in Product Development and Market Penetration. This project allowed me to apply the knowledge from my European Studies programme in a real-world setting, transforming theoretical insights into practical, impactful strategies. One invaluable skill I picked up at Rollz, which wasn't covered at my university, was writing a white paper – a challenging yet incredibly rewarding experience. Hands-On Experience 💼 Throughout my internship, I engaged in a variety of tasks that significantly contributed to my professional growth. From assisting with social media postings to handling diverse marketing-related tasks, I gained hands-on experience that broadened my skill set. European Dimension 🌍 The European dimension of Rollz International was particularly enlightening. Working within a multicultural team and navigating diverse international markets provided me with deep insights into global business operations and cross-cultural communication. 🌟 Reflecting on my first week at Insitu Inc! 🌟 It's been an incredible journey so far during my internship, and I'm eager to share three key lessons that have already made a big impact: 1. *Build Relationships*: Take the time to connect with everyone. Not only have I learned a lot from my mentor, but also from colleagues across different departments! It is always interesting to see what is going on throughout the company as a whole. Each conversation offers unique insights and opportunities to learn beyond your immediate role. 2. *Embrace Curiosity*: Asking questions has been a game-changer. It's okay not to have all the answers right away; in fact, it's expected! The way to stand out is to ask questions and admit when you need help. You may need to ask for a walk through on something seemingly simple, but remember, it's your first time and they don't expect you to be Senior Analyst IV. 3. *Stay Organized*: Keeping track of what I've learned, ongoing questions, people I've met, and achievements has been crucial. I personally like to use OneNote for this but something as simple as a Google document will do the trick. The key is to capture insights while they're fresh to reflect on later. I hope these insights resonate with fellow interns and inspire future interns alike! I'm grateful for the warm welcome and support from the Insitu and Boeing team. 💙 I started my SWE internship Uber in the bay! 👀 Let's talk about ways I'm maximizing my internship experience for the ultimate benefits! ✅ When stumbling across an issue, (unless its high priority) I don't immediately take it to my manager. I facilitate a way to use resources around me to solve the problem. → Read company documentation, search up the problem, even ask Chat GPT (no sensitive info!), ask your pod mates, THEN ask your manager. ✅ Sometimes it can be hard to know what I did two weeks ago. I want to show my progress, so at the end of the day I personally like to write down what I worked on, some milestones I made, and what I want to work on tomorrow. → Keep a paper trail of your progress throughout your entire time at your internship. Keep this accessible outside of work. ✅ My time at Capital One showed me that if you take advantage of internship cohort relationships, you can end up making lasting friendships! (Hi Dharshini Raman 😁❤️👋🏼 ) → Network! Network! Network! ✅ Today is the second day of work. It's also the day I meet my manager and mentor! I plan to strengthen communication with them and let them know of my learning style + ask for any tips to become the best intern they ever had. → Set up 1:1s with your mentor and manager to discuss your progress, any questions you have about work, and steps you can take to improve. ✅ Max productivity is my goal in life. I want to absorb as much information as I possibly can! When working with new technologies, I plan to do mini projects, watch youtube videos, observe repositories that use it, and read documentation that allows me to better understand what I'm working with. It’s been a glorious week. Hard in places but there really has been joy in every day! Here are some of my highlights 👀 Meeting new potential collaborators that I had felt like I had known for years the conversation was so great 📋 Developing our own internal systems to make life easier (honestly spend some time doing it, it’s made a world of a difference) 🧌Getting all data goblin on a few CRMs for clients so we get an understanding of of segments and any changes we should be drawing into marketing processes 🙌 Watching George MacMillan support clients in the most amazing ways this week (he doesn’t get enough credit) 🏆Offering internships to amazing candidates 🤩Getting positive feedback on a internal system I create to map sales/manage inventory and track sales touch points And generally supporting clients to really be seen and heard within their marketing and feel supported by their business processes. Ever wondered how an internship can redefine your understanding on life ?? 🤯 After a few weeks of reflection, I wanted to share my key learnings and experiences from working at the Swedish EdTech scale-up, Quizrr. For those who aren’t familiar, Quizrr leverages digital training solutions to educate employees in supply chains and beyond on critical issues such as employment rights, workplace safety, and social dialogue using a bottom-up approach. When I began my internship, I anticipated a unique experience. What I didn’t foresee was just how enriching this journey would be 🤩 Here’s what I learned: ■ 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: • Fika breaks: more than just a tradition, these coffee breaks enhance team cohesion and provide a platform for sharing good news (it’s the french cigarette break but healthy 🚬) • Flat hierarchies: It’s incredibly encouraging to be able to share your ideas freely. As an intern, discussing my thoughts with the founder and other C-suite executives was a huge privilege 🙏🏻 ■ 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆: • International team: working with colleagues from around the world broadened my perspective and significantly enhanced my emotional quotient (EQ).
