We are pleased to share our latest publication: Prediction of Soil Expansivity with Direct and Indirect Method in Banten Region, Indonesia. https://lnkd.in/gDyET3sR This research aimed to predict the soil expansivity of soil subgrade along the damaged road segments in Malingping, Cikeusik-Cibaliung, and Labuan districts. Indirect expansivity prediction was conducted based on various criteria using the Atterberg limit and grain size distribution. Direct expansivity prediction was conducted using an oedometer apparatus to measure the expansion index according to ASTM D-4829. Various indirect methods showed inconclusive results of swelling potentials, low to very high. The direct method provided more conclusive results, Expansivity Index = 100-167 and swelling values = 9%-18%, thus, categorized as expansive clay (high to very high swelling potential). 💧 Did you know that groundwater can be made artificially? 💧 Yes, by utilizing Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR), you can. The biggest MAR site in Finland is located in a beautiful Virttaankangas esker in south-western Finland. In Virttaankangas pre-treated surface water from river Kokemäki is infiltraded to the ground with a production capacity of 65 thousand cubic meters per day. Professor Prabhat Kumar Singh from Indian Institute Of Technology(BHU),Varanasi visited Virttaankangas yesterday. Thank you Aki Artimo for hosting us. Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK), together with Turun Seudun Vesi Oy - Turku Region Water Ltd and Finnish Water Forum believe that MAR would be the solution to water scarcity internationally. 👋Good morning Linkedin! Neoloy can be installed in any part of the world replacing bad-quality soils. 🌎 Here we have one of the projects in the middle of the forest on expansive clay in a rainy period, clearly affected constantly by erosion. ✍️ In this case, the project was made with locally available material, avoiding the cost of gravel material transportation. The most interesting part of the image is how Neoloy can deal, from the first instant, with the heavy machinery without losing its confinements capabilities. 🤔 Noteworthy, this specific solution was made together with a geomembrane in the first step.
