Derby – A Hot Spot for Ground Improvement Menard UK has recently completed another successful Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) project in Derby with columns installed to support a large new cold store warehouse working to tight tolerances beneath a high bay warehouse. The CMC solution was proposed to limit settlements to 25mm beneath both foundations and ground floor slabs with differential settlements limited to 1/500 in general slab areas and 1/2000 in the high bay racking area. 9,500no. CMCs were installed over a period of 7 weeks with 3no. CMC rigs. The equipment has now moved to the other side of Derby to our next CMC project for another large warehouse installing over 7,000no. CMCs beneath foundations and ground floor slabs. These schemes are the latest of several successful ground improvement schemes in the Derby area over the past 3-4 years. A total of 16no. structures are now completed or in construction utilising Menard’s ground improvement techniques including warehousing, housing, tanks and new college buildings with multiple techniques such as CMCs, Dynamic Replacement and Vibro Stone Columns. With plenty more schemes planned in the area and a very good understanding of the local soils and suppliers, we look forward to delivering more successful projects for our clients in the coming months and years. Menard UK is available to assist with any enquiries or questions regarding Ground Improvement. Here is an economical, efficient tested system to resist horizontal diaphragm loads on your mass timber projects.
Explore our mass timber solutions, designed for various construction needs. This blog delves into the application of mass timber, with a focus on tension straps for chord splices and collector forces. To meet the demands of high loads in mass timber diaphragms, we have the MDCST with an allowable load of 11,905 pounds. Additionally, our SDCF Timber-CF Screw and MTW45-8 Mass Timber Angled Washer were introduced for robust connections. Learn more at https://bit.ly/4748Gv3

50 year old sanitary cast iron Plumbing stacks in 16 story concrete building downtown San Diego, and this wasn’t the worst. Eul reached, cost to replace? $2m on the schedule of values. But a PCA wouldn’t have this high a cost, even equity. But this is the real cost within a larger budget to renovate the building and the 225 units, almost 18 months so far and last stacks to replace by next month. No tags, just another construction progress monitoring. Most common issue in construction in San Diego? Sdge delays.

🏗️ ABC Screw Piles are a fantastic option for modular classrooms and other buildings. 💪 They provide a strong foundation without the need for traditional concrete, making them ideal for replacing aging RAAC structures. 💰 They're cost-effective, eco-friendly, and can be installed quickly, ensuring your new classrooms are safe and sturdy for years to come. With a rise in needs for Modular classrooms for temporary purposes - ABC Screw Piles offer strong and temporary foundations for these builds. What is RAAC ? RAAC construction was popularized in Sweden and used widely in the UK from the 1950s to the 1980s and even into the 1990s. It was commonly used in schools and public buildings, primarily for roofing but also for walls and floors. RAAC, also known as "aerobar" or "aircrete," is a construction method where concrete is made bubbly, instead of being filled with materials like gravel or crushed stone. 📰 It is more affordable, lightweight, and easier to install. However, it's less durable, with a lifespan of about 30 years. Which recently has been making headlines across the news 📰 For more information on what we offer - get in touch below: 01380850885 [email protected] www.abcanchors.co.uk #Modularbuild #Prefabhomes #Offsiteconstruction #modulardesign #sustainablebuilding #greenconstruction #modulararchitecture #prefabconstruction #efficientconstruction #modularhousing #factorbuilt #modularinnovation #smartconstruction #modularsolutions #affordablehousing #quickbuild #modularoffice #modularschools #modularliving

This is our construction site for luminous stones, creating a starlight pavement. Specific construction process: 1. Mixing permeable asphalt mixture. 2. Surface cleaning to maintain a dry and clean surface. 3. Paving asphalt mixture. 4. Sprinkling luminous stones (specifications 8-12mm) directly onto the asphalt surface; followed by compaction with a roller.

What's the potential for the construction industry? In basement construction, builders are more and more interested in waterproofing their own basements, rather than using a subcontractor - but the difficulty is, getting it done right without defects! Reducing parties onsite would avoid the headaches of finger pointing and coordinating extra teams, but how can it be done effectively? Waterproofing needs to be put into the hands of the builder somehow - it would be a powerful advantage. And easier, if membranes are avoided. Get in touch if this is your pain as well; things could move quickly in this space. https://bit.ly/3KN7DqS #AddingLifeToConcrete

Have you ever considered ICF but then decided to go with the build system you already know? Maybe it’s time to choose an alternative option. One advantage (amongst many) of building with an insulated solid wall construction method like ICF is that the blocks are lightweight and stackable. This makes them much easier to transport to site with fewer delivered needed and a reduced requirement for lorries. Ideal for difficult to access sites. #ConstructionSimplicity #ICF #InsulatedSolidWallConstruction #ICFA https://lnkd.in/d4Xj96Tk
