“It’s like counseling, but for your whole health.” I like this little quote someone told me, describing what we do. While it tempts me to get into the differences between therapy and what we offer, it does kind of succinctly sum it up. Sophrosyne Wellness’ Mission is to empower people to take control over their health and wellness and improve their quality of life. We do this by helping people envision their optimal health and provide education, tools, evidenced based resources, and accountability to partner with them every step of the way. In short, we help guide people from point A to (their) point B in health and wellness. . . 📸 @triercphotography 🪷 getwellnc.com . #behaviorchange #chronicillness #autoimmune #longevity #nutrition #stressmanagement #sleep #exercise #spiritualhealth #professionalwellness #personalgrowth #emotionalhealth #mindfulness #socialwellness #relationshipgoals #integrativehealth

I've always had this health "identity." I love to workout, and I workout so I can eat. For 20+ years, that worked for me. I was a runner, and I lifted weights and did other cardio. I felt lucky that, for the most part, working out was something I looked forward to rather than something I dreaded. But eating? That was a totally different story. It's not that I ran to Wendy's late night a few times a week. But I loved the fact that I didn't have to diet. That I could kinda eat what I wanted. Oh, and I was 100% addicted to sugar. And I got to do that 'cause I worked out. It was who I was. Except, over the last 5 years, a few things transpired... 1. I slowly crept up in weight; I've gained over 10 lbs since 2020 2. I've had recurring and escalating lower back pain As most people do, I attributed those issues to lots of things... everything EXCEPT what I ate. Because having to face a pivot of my life and identity - no longer being able to be that eat-dessert-after-every-meal girl - was frightening. But after ending up with debilitating pain in my back, despite all the remedies you expect me to have tried (multiple PTs, chiro, stretching), I decided to simply get curious. What might happen if I changed my diet? Not forever, but as a little experiment. And what happened from that teeny experiment, I believe has altered the trajectory of my health forever. This week on the podcast, I decided to grab the mic - and talk mono y mono with you - to share the 5 things I've learned (in just a few months) that have rocked my world and transformed my health. I hope that at least one of these things is the thing you need to hear to help inform or spark a change you also desperately need. If you are also curious, listen to "b Cause..." on any podcast app, or you can stream directly from here: https://lnkd.in/gxKSDmwW #podcast #health #food #functionalmedicine #authenticity

Naturopathic and Functional Medicine Doctor at BreakFree Medicine, Essential Oils Consultant, Author, Speaker, Educator, Podcast Host
If you’ve been following my channel for a while, you’ve likely come to understand that essential oils are a trifecta of healing for the body, mind, and spirit. As a result, there are so many powerful ways they can fit into a healing and wellness practice to help us reach our goals. There is so much to say about these amazing plant secondary metabolites, sometimes I get overwhelmed! I want to spew out all their “hidden talents” so that you can get just as excited about them as I am. Alas, even in just one area of wellness, that would be an impossible task. Well, what if I told you that I actually had the chance to try to accomplish this feat? Recently, I was honored to be interviewed by Dr. Kate Kresge on The Root Cause Medicine Podcast discussing “The Hidden Benefits of Essential Oils.” Below is an overview of some of the topics we covered: 1. Why essential oils are a powerful medicinal tool. 2. The therapeutic and healing properties of essential oils for various health conditions. 3. How essential oils can be used as natural cleaning remedies to decrease toxic exposures and support our wellness at the same time! 4. Why essential oils are more than a natural alternative for wellness and healing, they offer synergistic support for all holistic protocols. 5. Clinical studies on the benefits and uses of essential oils, including ones that compare their efficacy to medications. 6. How to use essential oils safely and effectively for optimal health. 7. How to get started with essential oils if you are new.
