While temperatures soar during the summer, so does the need for blood donations. The summertime can also lead to fewer people donating. The supply can't always meet demand because only about 3% of eligible donors give blood. Unfortunately, the need for blood doesn't take a summer break - please consider signing up to donate blood this summer to help those in need. *Why do people donate?* Everyone has their own reasons for donating blood, but a few common ones include: 🔹Donating is a generous thing to do. It helps people in need, and it helps people in your community. When you give, others live. 🔹Donors, especially those who donate regularly, keep our nation’s blood supply stable. Although many people donate blood after disasters, blood is needed every day of the year. 🔹There is no substitute for blood. Donors provide the only supply of life-saving blood for those in need. 🔹Donating is simple, fast, and convenient. The donation process can take as little as 45 minutes of your time, but can make a lifelong difference for someone else.

As another year is coming to a close and many of us enter a time of celebration and reflection we cannot but ask ourselves: What is life like for those less privileged than us? · According to the United Nations 150 million children may be homeless. · According to a UNICEF report released on 2021, the number of children with disabilities globally is estimated at almost 240 million. Children with disabilities have been found to be disadvantaged and discriminated: o 49 per cent more likely to have never attended school. o 51 per cent more likely to feel unhappy. o 32 per cent more likely to experience severe corporal punishment. · A new report prepared by UNICEF before the currently running COP 28 was given the title “The climate-changed child” as children mostly get forgotten in the climate discussion although they are most vulnerable to the risks and consequences. Join our community of supporters today! This year we will reach thousands of children in vulnerable situations who need our help. Children living on the streets will find safety, food, and an education. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference. Time is running out to get your donation doubled (by the end of Dec 5th). So don't wait. Thank you in advance for your support. https://lnkd.in/geEvJU7s
