I am glad to share that my joint paper with Tomas Jandik “CTO Network Centrality and Corporate Innovation" has recently been published in the 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦. We find that the social network centrality of CTOs significantly impacts firm innovation. Companies with well-connected CTOs in the broader business network tend to invest more in research and development (R&D), receive more patents, attract more patent citations, and generate greater patent value. Additionally, the professional network centrality of CTOs within the network of their peers also fosters firm innovation. Firms innovate more and better when CTOs are hired by incumbent CEOs. Finally, R&D investment by firms with high-centrality CTOs increases firm value. #Innovation #SocialNetworks #CTO #CorporateFinance
