#PyxisProud to have Principal Ronnie Tepp present to the Health Care Systems Research Network's Patient Engagement in Research (PER) Scientific Interest Group this past week! Ronnie shared how Pyxis Partners has built a national network of community partners and a robust Community of Practice to accelerate biomedical research and advance #healthequity. She shared key components of our team's strategy to contribute to the building of a diverse All of Us Research Program participant community that is now 820,000+ strong! Some of the key takeaways from the session included: - invite new organizations into the space to expand the community - build capacity as you move through the work with your partners - recognize that while funding for community partners is essential, it must be supplemented with proven, thoughtful community engagement strategies - understand that strong relationships can withstand big challenges - return value to the communities you are seeking to engage - get comfortable with being uncomfortable - think about the messaging, the models and the messenger - acknowledge that while relationships may be deep, they are also delicate - think about the long game.
