Leadership Tip: Welcome to Wednesday! Sometimes we get so consumed with all that is going on around us that we forget to be thankful for what we have. But once you start focusing on the things of life we are thankful for, suddenly those things that consumed us don't seem to matter like they did. Today, maybe take the time to do a small account of what you are thankful for in your life. As you do this, take notice about how the things that were filling your mind with concern are not weighing so heavily on you. If you are struggling to think of things to be thankful for, start out with the small things in life we often take for granted: a home, a job, a bed to sleep in, water to drink, etc. Then, once you start getting the "thankful feeling," move into other areas of your life, like your family. Since it’s Valentines week, let’s talk about how we show LOVE to our teams. OK, I know that when we are talking about acquaintances, or work teams, that can be a scary word. But it shouldn’t be. If we want people to work for us, we need to show them that we care about them. When I was leading teams, I did this by bringing in gifts at holidays. They weren’t huge gifts, just little chocolates or baking - something small to show I was thinking of them. I also took the time to meet with the team regularly. These meetings weren’t just to talk about what was happening at work, we also got to know each other as people. We laughed and we supported each other when we needed it. Last but certainly not least, I listened to their concerns, their joys, and their frustrations. Sometimes there was nothing I could do to help, fix or change the situation, but just having been heard always helped. #Coach #Leadership #LeadingWithEase #HumanResources

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁 Although not American, I've always found the celebration of gratitude to be a universal lesson often overlooked. And for me it’s something I practice daily. As humans, we have much to be thankful for, and the act of expressing gratitude is a powerful force. In my family, where challenges were not uncommon, my mum has been my role model, embodying resilience and appreciation. She taught me that, no matter how tough things get, there's always something to be thankful for. This lesson has become a cornerstone in my life and leadership journey. Thanksgiving serves as a formal reminder to pause, reflect, and express gratitude. It's a chance to appreciate the people, experiences, and lessons that shape us. As a strategic leader, I carry this mindset into my professional life, instilling the importance of gratitude in the teams I lead. In teaching this principle to my children, I emphasize the transformative power of gratitude. It's not about denying challenges but about finding strength and resilience in acknowledging the positive aspects of our lives. So, on this Thanksgiving, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my mummy, whose strength and appreciation have been my guiding light throughout my life. It is the HRD-personnel who are solely responsible for failing to achieve the desired goal; simply for being incapable or reluctant to search out and recruit the right talents and/or person or personnel of worth and/or great impact ! So, my parents celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary yesterday and I started thinking about the similarities between strong partnerships and strong teams. Have any of you ever thought about this? These were the 3 things that quickly came to my mind. Simple but foundational. 1. Trust: you have your partner’s back, you have your teammate’s back 2. Communication: you create space, a practice of checking in on your partner as well as your teammates 3. Specific Goals: supporting each other’s individual goals and joint goals are equally needed because despite popular belief you can’t achieve joint goals if you haven’t identified your individual goals, first. 
Beyond these three things, I would say is facing challenges head on, being all in together. No partnership or successful team becomes great without working through lots of ups and downs, fears and failures because that is real life working through the tough stuff. That is where really bonds are made, not during the good times but when you are in the trenches together. 👉 What else would you add? #teambuilding #leadership
