Why don’t we open-source our #SAS macros? Great question – Atorus just did! During the keynote at PHUSE US Connect by Ross Farrugia and Michael Rimler, this was a question that came up when talking about collaboration around #rstats in pharma. We’ve seen such growth in the open-sourcing, sharing of code, and collaboration across companies. Solving problems together, instead of going it alone is welcomed and accepted. But why don’t we share our SAS macros? There are a lot of excuses for not sharing, whether it’s that our macros are too company specific, or maybe that it’s just not the programmer culture. At Atorus, #opensource is the key value driver at the center of our innovative and collaborative culture – so why not? The SAS macros Atorus uses for our clinical programming process are now available on GitHub here: https://lnkd.in/eHE3-39Z
How about making it a SAS Package and put it here https://github.com/SASPAC ?
Many say it's a company proprietary. Your organization has opened doors to change the thought process for others. Kudos.
This approach has been a long time coming in our industry. It fosters collaboration and promotes efficiency. 👍🏼
This is great to hear Mike Stackhouse. Absolutely in the world of open source especially with the code sharing, I advocate sharing SAS macros, thank you for starting this!
This is great Mike Stackhouse . Thanks again for leading the way. Don’t know if you recall but I had this exact same question for you, Michael Rimler & Ross Farrugia a couple of years ago at PhUSE when you guys did I believe the first hands-on workshop on Pharmaverse. Very excited to see this🍻
Superb idea!
Mike, this is an AWESOME initiative! Thank you for sharing!
