The #LANCMobile is on the road this week, bringing legal assistance to several communities in Western NC! Kudos to the Legal Aid of North Carolina team for making this initiative a reality. According to the Legal Services Corporation’s most recent Justice Gap Report, 92% of reported civil legal problems experienced by low-income Americans received inadequate or no legal help. These staggering numbers are consistent with local studies, and approximately two million people are eligible for Legal Aid of North Carolina’s services. However, they cannot access them due to geographical barriers. This is where the LANCMobile arrives to bridge the justice gap by bringing new resources directly to underserved communities. Beyond providing access to existing critical programs, the LANCMobile is an important part of the Legal Aid of North Carolina Innovation Lab's strategy. The team says it best: “LANCMobile is more than just providing legal services; it’s about eliminating barriers to justice access. Through data-driven strategies, LANC and its Innovation Lab will identify rural communities most in need and devise tailored solutions to overcome communication, infrastructure, and service accessibility challenges. An additional concern is the overtime ban, which will affect all rail networks nationally, with delays likely to be announced at the last minute. This is likely to cause widespread and unpredictable disruption for everyone intending to join us in what is set to be a packed conference programme. Much to our regret, the conference organising committee agreed that the best option would be to postpone the event. We know this will be a huge disappointment to you all (as it is to us) and will impact on all your preparations, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this will undoubtedly cause you. We would like to reassure you that we plan to reschedule the entire conference to the first available opportunity (likely to be Spring) and will inform you asap of the new date. We will also:  Take forward the registration fee you have already paid to the rescheduled conference date. Should you have paid your fee but not be available on the rescheduled date, we will reimburse the full fee. Please email our SRR Secretary Jemma Holliday if this applies to you via [email protected]  Offer all delegates who have registered and paid the fee a 20% discount at our next SRR conference (i.e. after the rescheduled event). We offer anyone who submitted a Work in Progress abstract the opportunity to resubmit an abstract, should there be important new developments you wish to disseminate, or if you have completed the research. Please note that full (i.e. completed research) abstract presenters may be eligible for the Verna Wright prize (please check eligibility on our website)!
