Data from Fluence's study with Innexo BV shows the potential of "no veg" growing method. Fluence and Innexo’s research partnership is focused on assessing the viability of cultivating cannabis without a standard vegetative phase, a practice generally associated with lower energy use that passes savings directly to growers in Europe and around the globe. The Fluence and Innexo study shows the potential of the “no-veg” growing method to help growers save money while improving quality and consistency while creating up to 55% savings on annual electrical costs directly associated with lighting. We are just one week away from the release of our compilation paper, "FIFRA, ESA, and Pesticide Consultation: Understanding and Addressing the Complexities," during the CropLife America & RISE Regulatory Conference in Washington, DC, on April 17, 2024. Join us at the Renaissance Capital View hotel in Arlington, Virginia, Studio D from 1-2:30 PM EST for the paper release and a panel discussion featuring Bernalyn McGaughey (Compliance Services International), Stanley Culpepper (University of Georgia), Ashlea Frank (Compliance Services International), Michael Aerts (Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association), Leah Duzy (Compliance Services International), and Austin Gellings (Association of Equipment Manufacturers - AEM). This paper represents the culmination of a thought-provoking series of six webinars that began on November 28, 2023. Throughout the series, we explored the pivotal roles of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in achieving a delicate balance between agricultural efficiency, environmental sustainability, and regulatory stability. Our webinars brought together a diverse group of experts to discuss the challenges, legal aspects, scientific advancements, economic strategies, and complexities surrounding pesticide consultation processes. As we approach this milestone, we extend an invitation to all stakeholders, policymakers, scientists, and industry professionals to join us in Washington, DC, for the release of this vital paper. Your participation will contribute to an informed discussion on the future of pesticide consultation processes and the ongoing efforts to ensure a sustainable and productive agricultural landscape.
