Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is a heart rhythm disorder. In AFib, the atria (upper chambers of the heart) beat out of rhythm with the ventricles (lower chambers of the heart). This results in an irregular heartbeat called ‘fibrillation’.   In other words, the heart may be too fast, too slow, or skip beats altogether. As a result, the heart can’t pump blood as well as it should, and it is more susceptible to blood clotting. AFib is a very common disorder. It affects up to 6 million adults in the United States and approximately 34 million people worldwide. It is the most prevalent heart arrhythmia. Many people with AFib are at a higher risk of death and disability as it increases the risk of stroke, dementia and heart failure. When we put Afib into remission, we reduce the risk of these complications tremendously. ⭐️ Science based nutrition is a vital component to managing Afib and helping to put it into remission, and it goes beyond avoiding/limiting caffeine and alcohol consumption. Oftentimes it is more than one thing causing Afib and all need to be addressed: - High blood pressure (ideal 110/70mmHg) - the number 1 cause of Afib that is MODIFIABLE! *If this is high, I would start here!* - Insulin resistance - Underlying inflammation - Oxidative Stress - Thyroid issues - Overweight/obesity - Abdominal adiposity - Acid reflux - Motility issues, constipation and/or diarrhea - Nutritional deficiencies ❤️ Hi, my name is Michelle Routhenstein, I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who specializes in heart disease prevention and management through science based nutrition. I have helped hundreds of people put Afib into remission by implementing personalized, science based nutrition that addresses the above. 💫 Take an EMPOWERED approach in your heart health today by knowing your numbers, optimizing them and implementing a truly heart healthy diet that is sustainable for the long term! 👉🏼 For more heart disease prevention tips, join my email list here: https://lnkd.in/eAEbtf_E #afibdiett #afib #tachycardia #cardiacablationrecovery #afibawareness #cardiacablation #cardiaccathlab #atrialfibrillationawareness #atrialfibrillationablation #cardiovasculardisease #hearthealth #ablation #heartdisease #hearthealthydiet #cardiacdiet #atrialfibrillation #afibsucks #arrhythmia #cardioversion#hearthealthy #hearthealthyfoods #strokeprevention #cardiacsurgery #ablationsurgery #bloodpressure #afibawarenessmonth #highcholesterol #heartattackprevention #heartattacksurvivor #heartdiseaseawareness
