When your body does not get all of the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, etc. it needs through food, it cannot do its job as efficiently. This can lead to fatigue, heart palpitations, frequent or prolonged illness, hair loss, weak or brittle nails, frequent headaches, among other things. It also puts extra pressure on your heart to do its job. It also may lead to inflammation and oxidative stress. We need specific nutrients in order for our heart to beat regularly, for our body to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress that are part of everyday living, and for our energy levels to remain high. Let’s focus on nourishing your body with heart healthy foods in the right balance and with your circadian rhythm for optimal heart health and longevity. Let’s focus on changing the mindset of “I don’t eat this,” to “I eat all of these things which help me feel great, nourish my body, and protect my heart.” 👉🏼 When we switch to this mindset, not only does our heart health improves, so does your quality of life. ❤️ Join me in my next 6 week heart optimization group program that begins on July 12th where we discuss how to optimize heart health by addressing the underlying root causes through science based nutrition. 💫 Spots are limited and enrollment is open. Helping busy women eat the foods they love without feeling like sh*t. Founder of Full Bloom Acres Wellness
This is why you still have heartburn even though you’ve been taking PPIs and antacids for years. I know most doctors prescribe Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) as the solution to heartburn and acid reflux. They put you on them and tell you you can’t ever stop. Let me tell you why this approach is not working. 👋🏻 Hi! I’m Lindsay, a gut health practitioner with a Master’s in Holistic Nutrition helping women ditch the chalky chews, improve digestion, and lose weight. I have helped many people, some as young as 14 and as old as 84, resolve their acid reflux using this approach. Acid reflux doesn’t discriminate and can happen at any age. PPIs were not designed for long-term use. They were designed to help with short-term relief of heartburn by blocking acid coming up from your stomach to your esophagus. Yes, that’s a problem. And we can fix that. But PPIs can lead to low stomach acid and you need stomach acid to properly digest your food. Remember, PPIs and antacids reduce acid. Low stomach acid can cause: ❌ Nutrient deficiencies ❌ Infections ❌ An imbalanced gut microbiome ❌ Chronic health issues ❌ Hair loss ❌ Nausea when taking vitamins and supplements ❌ Bloating, gas, diarrhea, and HEARTBURN Yep, heartburn is a symptom of low stomach acid. Isn’t that what you were trying to fix with the PPIs? What should you do instead? 1⃣ Check out your gut through stool testing. 2⃣ Work with a practitioner (me ) who can help you address any imbalances (either a chronic infection such as H. pylori or a bacterial or fungal overgrowth). 3⃣ Support your good gut bugs by slowly introducing a prebiotic supplement. 4⃣ Strengthen your body by eating more fiber. 5⃣ Use supplements to address any nutrient deficiencies. Low stomach acid can cause serious health issues if left untreated. So this is something to take seriously. If you’re ready to finally eliminate heartburn and you’re done with listening to advice that doesn’t work, DM me the word HEARTBURN and let’s chat. #heartburn #acidreflux #holisticwellness #holisticnutrition #guthealth

Week 2! ✨ In August, our registered dietitians are sharing their favorite way to support Hormone Health. This week, Dietitian Samantha Renner shares why she recommends Ground Flax Seed & Cruciferous Vegetables to help with estrogen detoxification. Estrogen plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of our reproductive system, brain, and nervous system. Supporting our bodies in the detoxification of estrogen will aid in maintaining hormone balance and help avoid hormone related health issues. ⚖️ Cruciferous vegetables contain a chemical called sulforaphane which can help with the enhancement of breakdown and excretion of estrogen in our bodies. 🥬 Some examples of cruciferous vegetables are: 🥦 Broccoli 🥦 Cauliflower 🥦 Cabbage 🥦 Brussels sprouts 🥦 Dark leafy greens Ground Flax Seed is also a great addition to your diet! It enhances liver detoxification of estrogen and promotes estrogen excretion. 🌾 To help your body detox and excrete estrogen, try to get: ✔️ 2 to 3 servings of cruciferous vegetables weekly ✔️ 1 to 2 tablespoons of Ground Flax seed in our diet daily 🍊 We recommend meeting with a registered dietitian at Clem&Thyme Nutrition to personalize your approach to hormone balance. 11 signs and symptoms of gallstones or gallbladder issues. Plus, 7 natural remedies to help! Did you know the most common symptom of gallstones is no symptom at all? That's why it's important to make diet and lifestyle choices that help your gallbladder. The gallbladder is an important organ that holds bile salts, concentrates bile (5X more potent), and regulates the release of bile into the digestive system. When you eat, your gallbladder contracts and releases concentrated bile salts. Bile is created in your liver and stored in your gallbladder. When it’s released, it helps break down fat-soluble nutrients, including fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins. This is why vitamin deficiencies can be associated with low bile and gallbladder issues. Here are 11 signs & symptoms of gallstones: 1. Pain or tightness under the right rib cage 2. Pain under the right rhomboid 3. Pain in the neck that runs up the side of the face 4. Nausea 5. Vomiting 6. Bloating 7. Belching 8. Jaundice 9. Dark urine 10. Pale stool 11. High cholesterol- bile helps thin/eliminate cholesterol Here are 7 natural remedies to help remove gallstones and/or sludge: 1. Take purified bile salts and probiotics 2. Consume darky leafy greens 3. Use acupressure on the liver, gallbladder or pancreas 4. Decrease your insulin (lower carbs, sugars, alcohol) 5. Intermittent & periodic prolonged fasting 6. Optimal sleep of 7-9 hours! 7. Consume TUDCA Looking to learn more about underlying imbalances in your health, or had your gallbladder removed and are looking for ways to help? Are you in the throes of perimenopause? Do you think you might be, but you just aren't sure? Here are some of the common symptoms: 🌿Shorter cycles, meaning your period comes more often (for example, if you were 28 or 29 days, you might be starting to see your bleed cycle start at day 25 or 26) 🌿Changes in your cycles (heavier or lighter) 🌿Weight gain (especially in your waist area, on your back, face and triceps) 🌿Mood changes (lack of patience, anxiety, low mood, etc.) 🌿Skin changes (hormonal acne on your face, for example) 🌿Low libido 🌿Insomnia (and there are many others!) It doesn’t have to be a time spent dealing with hot flashes and weight gain. There are so many things we can do from a diet, supplement, and lifestyle perspective to help you on this journey. One of the key things we need to be paying attention to as we make this transition is getting enough PROTEIN. We need it for so many functions in our body: 🌿to keep blood sugar stable 🌿to grow, build and repair muscles and bones 🌿to make hormones and enzymes 🌿to provide energy If you find yourself tired all the time, or really not weathering perimenopause well, this could be an area to explore. I went into loads of detail in this week's newsletter, but my biggest recommendation is to ensure you are getting "at least" 100 grams of protein per day. That's probably still not enough, but let's start there. I've included some examples below & you can always add a good quality protein powder to your day. Want to learn more? Then get yourself connected ⬇️ #clientsuccess #holisticnutrition #nicoleschurwellness #perimenopausesupport #veteranshelpingveterans _____________________________________________________________ Hi! Nutritional Therapist helping women through menopause naturally to banish stress & anxiety and feel better 💛
I was reading a book about the iceberg effect - where you see what someone has achieved but not seen what has been going in the background. It made me think about how much gut health affects overall health (including hormones in menopause) and what you see on the 'outside'. What is visible could be a skin condition or low energy but what's going on under the surface is how your gut is functioning. Gut Health all the way! If you'd like a quick way to see if you're potentially getting enough vitamins and minerals, get my Diet Analysis. It's a good start. #nutrition #guthealth #whywait #menopausesupport #feelgood #vitamins #coaching #womenshealth #brainhealth #anxietyrelief

It sounds simple, but if you’re dealing with other health issues (like Hashimoto’s) in addition to your chronic hives, there’s a REASON. It’ll just start a fire somewhere else until the problem’s solved for good. 🔥 👆🏼 This is why my clients typically struggle with more than one chronic condition, the most common being hypothyroidism. But once I explain the connection between their thyroid and chronic hives, they understand why gut health is such an important piece of the healing puzzle. 🧩 By optimizing your digestion, you can turn off your immune response, manage your histamine bucket, and give your body the energy it needs to support your thyroid. And the best part? No dangerous side effects or expensive prescriptions! 💊 If you’re struggling with Hashimoto’s and chronic hives, and are wondering what you can do to start supporting your health, comment ‘GLOW’ and I’ll send you the link to my free gut health masterclass. 🔗 I’ll walk you through my proven 5 step process for healing the gut so you can reclaim your health once and for all.
