https://lnkd.in/enpkcGEg This is a frightening list, questioning the myths regarding best hospitals. of the 3600+ hospitals ranked for outcomes, of the internationally renowned hospitals in the US, only NYU Langone ranked in the top 1%. The Harvard hospitals did not fare particularly well, including in the patient safety rankings. However, they ranked well in avoiding provision of limited financially sound treatments. Frankly, I'm more interested in clinical outcomes and safety. While the US News and World Report each year ranks the "usual offenders" (Harvard hospitals, NYU, Hopkins, Stanford, etc.) highly, this likely relates to research funding to a great extent. Moral of the story is that ALL PATIENTS should familiarize themselves with these objective ratings, and seek care from facilities with superior clinical outcomes and safety! #ConsumersBeware

Newsweek said it partnered with Statista to release its annual ranking of the world's best hospitals. The series began in 2019. The researchers evaluated 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries, including the United States, much of western Europe, Australia, 10 Asian countries, Chile and Malaysia. In New Jersey, the following hospitals earned a spot among the world’s very best: Morristown Medical Center Rank: 47 City: Morristown Hackensack University Medical Center Rank: 58 City: Hackensack Valley Hospital Rank: 137 City: Ridgewood Overlook Medical Center Rank: 174 City: Summit Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Rank: 329 City: Englewood Monmouth Medical Center Rank: 411 City: Long Branch Hospitals were scored based on an online survey of about 85,000 medical experts and publicly available data from post-hospitalization patient surveys on their general satisfaction, Newsweek said. Hygiene and patient/doctor ratios were also considered, along with a Statista survey on whether hospitals use “Patient Reported Outcome Measures,” which are surveys filled out by patients about their experience. #besthospitals #NJhospitals #newsweek

Today, U.S. News & World Report presented its first-ever list of the “Best Regional Hospitals for Equitable Access” at The State of Equity in America meeting in Washington, DC. As the “global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice,” US News' analysis revealed 53 hospitals across 26 states serving socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. Recognition was granted to the institutions that excelled in providing access to high-caliber care, resulting in exceptional patient outcomes. California ranked highest in number of hospitals that made the cut, with 7 recognized institutions, followed by 4 in North Carolina and 3 in Arizona, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, and South Carolina. Honing in on US cities with more than 1 hospital included, Baltimore, Detroit, St Louis, Tucson, and Tulsa each had 2 institutions listed.
