Reflecting on my sophomore year: Just like that, another year of college has gone by, and there's a lot to reflect on. A year ago I had experienced what was the most eventful year of my life, only for this academic year to be even more so. In terms of academics, I went to great lengths to maintain a competitive GPA, finishing with the year with a 3.93. I also continued my work as a business student tutor with the Center for Academic Success (CAS). What is most worth noting, however, is my extracurricular involvement. As a member of the 2023-2024 Mentor Program student cohort, I enhanced my understanding of careers in finance and expanded my professional network. As an analyst in the Manhattan College Investment Club, I learned what goes into a strong stock pitch and proper due diligence. I also joined Manhattan's National College Federal Reserve Challenge team, where I've developed my economic research and analysis skills. After great effort, the team was named regional finalists in the 2023 competition, a commendable accomplishment. Last but not least, is my involvement with the Manhattan College Beta Alpha Psi - Lambda Pi Chapter. Starting as a candidate, I worked hard to meet my hour requirements, attending many professional and service events. My efforts were rewarded, as I was selected for a shadow board position, and was honored as an official member during the Spring semester. Aside from the technical skills and great personal growth which I was able to experience through my extracurricular activities, what I ultimately find most valuable is the connections and friendships I was able to make along the way. In some aspects, it was those relationships that motivated me to continue my engagement, despite hectic and cramped schedules. So thank you to all the people that made it worthwhile. Going forward, I would like to continue and expand on my efforts. For the next academic year, I would like to become an associate in the Investment Club, taking on a role of leadership and greater responsibility. As for the Fed Challenge, my role within the team has already begun to grow. As we prepare for the next competition, I intend to use the example set by my seniors to ensure success. I also wish to make greater contributions with BAP, as we make preparations for the upcoming year. Additionally, I'm doing my best to navigate this tight and unforgiving job market, actively applying for available summer 2025 internship opportunities and any type of employment I can get for this summer.
