Texas Instruments (TI) is set to receive up to $1.6 billion in direct funding from the U.S. Commerce Department to build three new domestic facilities. This support, part of the CHIPS and Science Act, will facilitate the construction of two factories in Texas and one in Utah, with TI committing $18 billion through 2029. These projects aim to create 2,000 manufacturing jobs. TI also anticipates an additional $6-8 billion in tax credits and $10 million for workforce development.
