The building depicted combines geometric complexity with natural aesthetics. The polyhedral shapes create an eye-catching, multidimensional effect, and the use of wood adds a touch of organic warmth, contrasting with the urban glass and steel structures around it. The reflection in the surrounding water amplifies the building's presence, making it a focal point of the area. For design and creativity, especially in a cosmopolitan city like Toronto, this could be rated at 9/10 for its innovative architectural form, thoughtful material integration, and harmonious balance with water features. It would likely draw attention for its design and could become a landmark. However, the practical aspects of construction, maintenance, and functionality would need to be carefully considered to ensure the building's feasibility and sustainability.

PhD in Building Technology Science | Expertise in building energy, passive building design and LCA carbon emissions
In contemporary buildings, for the sake of architectural aesthetics, energy efficiency in building envelopes, and personal privacy protection, it is common to have only a single window on exterior wall, and the actual portions that can be opened are also very limited. Previous studies have indicated that the efficiency of the single-sided natural ventilation in buildings is significantly lower compared to cross-ventilation and mechanical ventilation. Are there any simple yet practical methods to enhance the natural ventilation effectiveness in buildings with single window?

Limited Capabilities. A complex and specific topic, the solution to which architects help to form a friendly and mutually respectful society. No matter what project we are working on (exterior or interior design), the main rule is always the same: Solutions for some should not limit the capabilities of others. We also applied this principle in our work on the co-living project in Germany, which you can see below.
