Set a clear and actionable plan to reach your goals effectively. Step 3: Sort and purge - Divide items into three piles: keep, donate, and discard. Be ruthless – get rid of broken or unused items. As the official charitable arm of the Bureau of Land Management, the Foundation for America’s Public Lands convened partners from across the country to help us reimagine outdoor recreation on America’s public lands and waters. Our new report released today includes responsive actions the BLM can consider that would foster greater partner engagement, build an inclusive culture, and help address the challenges they face to ensure public lands and waters are available, accessible, and able to be enjoyed by current and future generations alike. One thing is clear – we need strong partnerships to ensure the BLM has the resources it needs to implement the vision. One thing that people don't know about the Bike Scouts is that 99% of our local teams' activities are self-funded because, in their own words, it doesn't make sense to wait months or years for outside help to be processed, approved, and delivered just so they can be made to sit and clap at token activities for magnificent-sounding intentions. Instead, the community members themselves pool whatever they have to do weekly projects and activities that actually align with what they actually need locally. One Bike Scout works as a construction worker, and when their team has to do something for their own community he contributes most of what he has to help make it happen without needing complicated plans, reports, and approval processes because the need they want to address is right in front of them - and they see the impact with their own eyes because they're local. Making a difference is not complicated if making a difference is your actual goal. The Bike Scouts community works because nobody in it is out to save anyone or solve fantastic-sounding problems. We help when help is needed. That is all there is to it. This is the power of community. #wearebikescouts

Take a look at this carrot. The one with the crown. It’s not just any carrot, it’s the winner of our new #EmployeeofTheMonth scheme* (along with the close runner up, second carrot). But why? Because we grew it together, as a team, in a little pot just outside the office windowsill. Whilst small in size, what it represents is huge! This tiny harvest is the result of lots of teamwork (who’s in the office to water them this week?) and shows how nature can thrive even in the smallest of spaces. What started from a seed swap after work led to a mini garden being planted on the roof (ft. sunflowers, radishes and more!). Speaking of nature thriving, we saw a whopping 610 applications roll in for the new Nature Hubs Fund, which will be funding the creation of 50 new or enhanced green spaces. With so many wonderful ideas from new concepts people had been waiting to sprout ‘until this funding came along’ to weatherproofing thriving spaces so people can enjoy them year-round, there are some difficult decisions to be made! We’ll be announcing the winners soon, but first – almost as soon as we introduced our employee of the month, we must also bid them adieu. Apparently they were eaten by the team yesterday and were ‘earthy and not sweet’. *A new honour we’ve decided to bestow upon an inanimate object each month for the part they play in bringing to life our work, and the issues we feel most passionately about. #EnvironmentalCharity #GreenSpace #GrantFunding

In last week's session of the Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd Raised Crossing Principles course we discussed the Zippeedeeing 3 year old - one of the more challenging active transport users we need to plan for on our networks. Here's a Zippeedeeing 3-year old action shot! Classic example of the type of manoeuvre we might expect from this user. They're out in all sorts of conditions, disobey also sorts of standard social and traffic conventions, are quick on their wheels and reluctant to follow instructions. They're not hard to spot, but they're tricky to control. Want to find out more?
