Co working spaces are evolving! I’ve tried a lot of them but always found the same experience. Coffee and snacks are great but there was no collaboration, networking, or fun conversations. People showed up but everyone just put on their headphones and sat quietly. I went from feeling isolated at home to feeling isolated in a public environment. I was at this local coffee shop called Esteamed and got to thinking about the concept of “Making a difference”. (If you are in the Raleigh Durham area consider supporting these folks when you crave a coffee…not only are they making a difference for people with special abilities but they also make great coffee!). Making a difference has always been core to what I look for in a career and life. Making a difference for clients, partners, coworkers. And the world at large. In fact, this may sound strange as a sales leader, but making a difference has been a higher priority for me than the money. And I find that when I focus on making a difference the money follows because I am giving my best to solve problems and create opportunities. Hopefully, the clients and colleagues I work with see this in me, as I authentically care about their business and roles and goals and if I don’t see a clear way to make a difference in a situation I will say so. I’d rather not get a deal when we can’t truly make a positive impact. Same for job searches. And Lately, I am having so much fun working with 280 Group because our team has this same value! I think all of my colleagues are excited to get up everyday and make a difference for product teams around the world. Refreshing and energizing to be around such a team. The team loved having you on Whitney Johnson Cowell! I started the idea of bringing an "Internal Guest Speaker" on at the beginning of the year to kick off our Monday meetings with the objectives: To spice up our Monday meetings: Increase Product knowledge and learn how each department operates Increase confidence in working internally across departments/offices Most importantly, the ability to internally network. I always think about increasing production by increasing efficiency. One of the best ways to increase efficiency is getting your team internally networked and engaged with the rest of the company. The guests we have had on include; Sales reps that have found success, the President of KCH, the head of our Air import/export team, and a colleague in our solutions departments. One of the things that I love most about KCH Transportation has been brought to light within this idea -> The willingness and the support of colleagues from different departments/offices wanting to collaborate. #creative #efficiency #leadership #management

💥 🔥 Sales HQ is hosting a free week for all Raleigh-Durham sales people 👀 👀 Most sales friends that I speak with tell me the same things, WFH is fun at times but they're missing out on the energy, collaboration, and just feeling burnt out being in the apt/house ALL DAY. I felt the same way and then some. Productivity was down, felt isolated being new to the Raleigh area, and my biggest fear of not growing by learning from people smarter than me was kicking in.
