I continue to hear staffing firms express a concern of how to diversify. It’s a massive undertaking to expand the business and go into a new field of speciality. There’s a cost to it, to staff it yourself. How do you get through it? It’s all in the hiring. Find someone who has been there before, who has led a company through this type of expansion. Hopefully, they’ll know what your existing internal knowledge doesn’t know and train people along the way. Ask good questions. Talk to people working in the new industry or vertical. Let them tell you how their work is, what the pain points are, and where they see opportunities for your firm. Did I miss anything? A colleague of mine was asking about what staffing firms need to focus on more. It’s not just about sales. It’s also about marketing. Dropping in here to share a trend I’m seeing in healthcare staffing. 🩺 It’s no longer enough to only focus on one vertical. The best healthcare staffing firms out there are diversifying into other healthcare-related areas, like Locum Tenens, permanent placement, RNs, etc. Beyond the line of business verticals, I’m also seeing there’s more diversification through technology. Investments in their internal technologies are helping reduce candidate onboarding, placing people faster and thus yielding more volume — AKA: business. Did I miss anything?
