I posted on Reddit to get some advice on how I could become the best dev. I got some good pointers on which I would be working on in the upcoming months along with what I am already doing. Here I summarize what I found to be useful from that thread.

I get asked this question on Reddit most weeks. It’s one of those questions that doesn’t have an easy answer. But luckily, there is research and work you can do to get close to it. If this is something you have been thinking about, here is a guide to help you.

Reddit is a goldmine for spying on your customers and potential customers. Lately, I've been popping in our clients' name into Reddit and going down the rabbit hole on every thread to get content/keyword ideas. People on there talk in detail about: -Alternatives they've tried (and what they like/dislike about each) -Which features they find useful -What pain points the product solved for them -Where they think the product is lacking -The exact workflows they use the product for You can't find brutal honesty like that anywhere else on the internet, and you'd even be hard-pressed to get feedback like that talking directly to customers.

Just a reminder, there is absolutely a Reddit post about your products. Never forget to check out Reddit for an authentic (usually painful) and consumable review about your company, product and services. Anonymity allows your customers to be totally honest (usually for the worse, it's Reddit after all) if they choose to post something. The casual environment of Reddit allows users to put down the mask of professionalism and get to what pain points they really have in simple terms. Scour the replies too! You'll be able to find people who are there to defend you or more likely (again, this is Reddit we're talking about) others that feel the same way and can articulate their unique experiences with similar problems. As bleak as that can feel, remember there probably a Reddit for your competitor too! Use this as an opportunity to take an intimate peak into their pain points and differentiate yourself from the rest.

What is the superpower of Reddit? Real-time, authentic feedback. Picture this: You're launching a product, and within moments, you've got immediate reactions. Facing a persistent business hurdle? Someone, somewhere, has your solution served on a silver platter. It’s a goldmine of crowdsourced knowledge, complete with a cocktail of raw honesty. Search, Engage, Ask and help others find answers they seek. That's what Reddit is all about.

5 levels of acquiring traffic from Reddit From simplest to most complex. Some users write that in trying to attract traffic from Reddit, I am spamming. I don't agree with this. Spam is a matter of irrelevance. If you write interesting content and leave links to your products in threads where people ask about such products, aren’t you helping these people? P.S.
