"The 2024 Emerging Experiences Study: Next-Gen Restaurants" came out yesterday by Intouch Insight and once again it shows us just how much technology is redefining the restaurant landscape. 👏 With #kiosks, #mobileordering and #drivethru technology, we are seeing a significant evolution in #customerinteractions and #operationalefficiency. This study was conducted in America and predominantly covers customer experiences with mobile ordering, in-store kiosks and drive thrus. It includes 10 of the most known well global brands in the #QSR industry such as Burger King, Wendy's, Shake Shack and Taco Bell. I found the insights valuable and thought I would share what I found most interesting, also hope they are reassuring to those looking at #innovation or starting their #digitaltransformation journey in Europe and beyond. 💡Key insights (which I will probably refer to again in future posts!)👇😆 🔷 Kiosk Ordering: 'More than 4 out of 5 Americans prefer using #selfservicekiosks over traditional counters', with order accuracy boosted to 97% for kiosk orders. This actually shows when customers are in control of their orders, errors are reduced, ultimately boosting customer satisfaction and overall experience. 🔷 Drive-Thru Innovations 'Drive-thru lanes account for over 70% of revenue for leading quick-service restaurants!' That's a phenomenal amount. The study also shows that innovative drive-thru tech including #voiceAI has improved #orderaccuracy by at least 5% and offers a 5% increase in customer satisfaction. Given the revenue potential, I do think it's essential for brands to look at how best to invest in technology to ensure #streamlinedoperations, reduced wait times and enhanced #orderefficiency. 🔷 Future Trends The use of #digitalmenuboards and #technology, like #voiceai in kiosks and drive-thrus is key to redefining the ordering process by delivering faster and more accurate services. Customisation is also very important and with innovative tools will allow brands and customers to personalise their orders and enjoy more tailored experiences.
