#MileOneCares was back at it down in Virginia Beach with DRIVE SMART Virginia this week! Students from Princess Anne High School and Ocean Lakes High School participated in the non-profit’s distracted driving program which included a virtual reality texting and driving simulator, impaired driving cart course, and a traffic stop demonstration. A big thanks to our incredible volunteers, the school administrators, and of course the students for signing our Buckle Up, Phone Down pledge! What gets measured, gets done... My mum always teased that I counted everything (I even measured the height of my stacked textbooks after studies, not even mentioning the number of used pens, writing pads or hours in front of said books... vs target of course). Little did I know this habit would stick (#JamesClear and many others in the same discipline speak to my soul). Believing in hard work above all; consistency, marginal gains and tracking, I'm exceptionally proud being part of the #AutoProtectGroup #UKChallenge 2024 team. Help our team support #ActionForChildren doing amazing work to protect and support children and young people (765,905 to be exact last year; as we're counting). At 174.4km running and 780km cycling clocked to date (not that we're counting); almost sufficiently prepared for this amazing initiative in just two weeks' time. Stick with habits that stick.

Celebrating one year with the Ride For Freedom team! Over the past year, this small but mighty team has made a profound impact on the mission to combat modern slavery. I've had the honor of being part of this journey, helping to convey our message across social media and working behind the scenes on all our programmes and fundraising events. One initiative particularly close to my heart is the Schools Programme, which I've nurtured from its inception. It's designed to empower our little ones with knowledge through the joy of cycling while inspiring a lifelong passion. With the dedication of our team, it has grown into a resounding success. My greatest learning curve has been delving into people's perspectives and values, their end goals, and their awareness of modern slavery. Do consumers prioritize ethical production, or is a bargain the sole concern? Does a pristine car matter more than the well-being of the person cleaning it? Unfortunately, some fail to see the struggles faced by People in their own communities. The "hidden in plain sight" narrative is truly a scary concept. I've had the privilege of witnessing remarkable acts of generosity and unwavering dedication to Ride For Freedom. Whether it's the gift of time, financial contributions, pedaling for our cause, or passionately advocating for our mission, it's a poignant reminder of the incredible goodness that thrives in our world. I've absorbed a wealth of knowledge from teachers, charities, my team, our partners I have worked with, and will continue raising awareness about modern slavery and supporting our Freewheel Programme. It's a challenging subject, but I embrace the opportunity to bring it to your attention and encourage self-education and advocacy. This year has brought personal and professional challenges, leading to a future plan to put in place. It really has made me evaluate and maybe say yes more to the opportunities in life that scare me. I'm excited about upcoming plans. You may even see me set my own cycling challenge but in the meantime the Cycle Revolution is happening this December and I would love it if you could be a part of it - https://lnkd.in/ezGRdpZq #educationandawareness #rideforfreedom #endmodernslavery #cyclerevolution #sayyes

Once more we Rally! Today marks the 11th annual Purdue Day of Giving! Here are my top three reasons why #Igive: 1. Impactful Tradition: Purdue Day of Giving is not just a 1 day 24 hour fundraising event. It is a tradition that brings together Boilermakers from all over the world to celebrate one cause--Purdue! 2. Investment in the Future: Your contributions are not just another donation, by giving on Purdue Day of Giving, you are investing in the future of Purdue University. You're investing in the students and showing them you care about their success! 3. Supporting Student Success: Each gift has a direct impact on a student. Whether you give to an academic college, student organization, or athletic area, your gift directly goes to provide students with tools they need to succeed at Purdue. Don't forget to make your gift today and see if your company has matching capabilities to maximize your contributions throughout the year! https://lnkd.in/gvrd8SgM #PurdueDayofGiving #PurdueUniversity Purdue for Life Foundation

📣 It's GoodGiving time in the Bluegrass! As you are considering which non-profits to support during Blue Grass Community Foundation's GoodGiving Week, we ask that you support the innovative, important, and unique work that we do here at CivicLex. Why should you support us? - Everything we do is public; Our workshops, forums, newsletter, focus groups, game nights,, and more are free and open to the public! - We make local government more accessible; We answer questions like: How do I contact my Councilmember? What is public comment? Who can I work with to start a new project in my neighborhood? - Local government is really important; Housing, walking and biking paths, public transportation, parks, community events, composing, development, traffic, parking…You name it, we can show you how it’s connected to your local government! - We do big things with a small budget; In 2023, CivicLex’s budget was $310,000. With this, we continued many of our workshops and programs but also rolled out our new Park Equity Accelerator Program and developed a brand new K12 Program. All while providing civic information weekly to thousands of residents! There aren't many organizations like us, and we need your support so we can continue to become a national leader in local civic education work! The smallest details matter in major gift fundraising. Donors notice attention to detail and appreciate the energy and effort required to get things “right”. Put systems in place to make sure you have covered all of the details. #advancement #fundraising #highereducation #independentschools #nonprofitleadership #philanthropy #fundraisingconsultant

I admit -- I post consistently about the many things we do here at Cresset -- but Launch Generation is one of the things I love the most. Actual programming to assist our client's teenage kids learn about Entrepreneurship, Leaderships Skills and Financial Literacy. Provided in a format to help them learn self-sufficiency and build confidence. #multifamilyoffice #nextgeneration #leadership #ria #fiduciary #transparencymatters
Our 2023 cohort of Launch Generation teens were impressive, inspiring, and collaborative. This year, we were thrilled to have accepted six teens from non-profit partners who are working to support teenagers in their educational and entrepreneurial endeavors. Thank you to Mission Scholars, College Track, The Moving Mountains Project, and Young Enterprise UK for the positive impact you are making in our world.
