MILLS MARINE & SHIP REPAIR LLC’s Post

Ship delays due to mechanical part breakdowns can cost a fortune! But leaders in the marine industry like Thyssenkrupp Materials Services & Wilhelmsen Ships Service are stepping up to speed up the solution. Their strategy? 3D printing technology. With this innovation, essential spare parts can be printed more quickly & cost-effectively than ever before. From leading OEM Kongsberg Maritime to other firms, digital part models can be uploaded on this platform & 3D printed anywhere, anytime. It's a big shout out to Pelagus 3D too, for making even obsolete parts readily available with their 3D scanning & redesigning technology. #MarineTechnology #3DPrinting #Innovation https://lnkd.in/ekf8-txq

Thank you for the update. How is the remainder of 2023 for Mills Marine?

I’ve seen obsolete parts made on CNC machines with good success, never 3D printed yet. It’s interesting for sure and we have some folks that are experimenting with that too. Making special tools and parts with long lead times. It’s great stuff and gets these ships back out to sea a lot quicker.
