Automate. Increase your efficiency. Change the world! The potential of CAR T cell therapies is increasing in relevance globally. These cells are designed to detect and attack tumor cells and are primarily used to treat blood cancers and some solid tumors. Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute is dedicated to understanding the origin, etiology, and pathology of childhood leukemia, as well as myeloid leukemia in adults. They are working to develop new therapeutic targets to cure these diseases. To achieve this, they need highly purified hematopoietic progenitor cells, and the great autoMACS® Pro has been helping them in the lab since 2013! Its ease of use and excellent results are crucial for this important project. Thank you Virginia Carolina Rodríguez Cortez, Pablo Menendez Bujan, Angela Meseguer, and the entire team, for advancing our understanding of these critical diseases and helping to change the world! #excellentcellseparation #leukaemia #CARTcell #MiltenyiBiotec #science

Online!👓 Mitochondrial transfer from Adipose #stemcells to #breastcancer cells drives multi-#drugresistance ------- Breast cancer (BC) is a complex disease, showing heterogeneity in the genetic background, molecular subtype, and treatment algorithm. Historically, treatment strategies have been directed towards cancer cells, but these are not the unique components of the tumor bulk, where a key role is played by the tumor microenvironment (TME), whose better understanding could be crucial to obtain better outcomes. Here Federica Papaccio, Vincenzo Desiderio et al. provide a proof-of-concept of the occurrence of Mitochondrial Transfer (MT) from Adipose Stem Cells (ASCs) to BC models. Blocking MT from ASCs to BCCs could be a new effective therapeutic strategy for BC treatment. Could your daily aspirin also help prevent colorectal cancer (CRC)? It has been long-hypothesized that aspirin possesses anticancer properties, but the pharmacologic evidence has been weak. Researchers in China recently published a new study seeking to explore the effects of aspirin on mice with CRC. The main findings are: 1. Aspirin decreases T-regulatory cell abundance by increasing expression of T-cell immunoglobulin and ITIM domain (TIGIT) 2. Aspirin reduces the abundance of certain bacteria in the microbiome Both results support the conclusion that aspirin impacts both the immune system and gut microbiome which inhibits CRC in mice. More work is needed to fully understand the behavior of aspirin in humans with CRC, but the study lays exciting groundwork! #MedComms #ColorectalCancer #Research #Oncology

This study engineers biosensors( bacteria ) to detect specific extracellular DNA sequences related to colorectal cancer (CRC). The biosensors are validated in mice with CRC tumors and show potential for noninvasive detection in the gut. Further development is needed for clinical use, addressing delivery and performance. The approach offers advantages over invasive in vitro diagnostics and holds promise for detecting and treating diseases. https://lnkd.in/gXTDhths https://lnkd.in/gqP92i9e

The age of cancer biomarkers and precision medicine begins with the discovery that HER2 is overexpressed in 20-25% of breast cancers and is associated with adverse outcomes. Herceptin, the first Ab therapeutic for the treatment of solid tumors that blocks the HER2 receptor, is approved in 1998, and ushers in the rise of targeted cancer treatments. What new biomarkers will you discover with spatial biology? Join our panel discussion tomorrow sponsored by Illumina and Life Science Washington to learn how our speakers are using spatial multiomics to advance research on women’s health. 👉https://bit.ly/3VhFfCP #cancertreatment #precisionmedicine #spatialbiology #biomarkerdiscovery #womenshealthwednesdays
