Dr. Fernandez, a highly experienced surgeon triple-boarded in cardiothoracic, vascular, and general surgery, brings a wealth of expertise from Boone Health in Columbia, Missouri.   MaxFi was established in November 2014 following innovative cadaver perfusion techniques deployed by Dr. Ed Garrett Jr. After an initial phase of conceptualization, the company gained significant traction in 2016-2017 when Dr. Fernandez conducted groundbreaking experiments using pig hearts, providing initial validation following years of development.   Dr. Fernandez further validated his techniques with cadaver dogs, overcoming considerable challenges in tissue perfusion, resulting in several patented technologies. Between 2018-2020, MaxFi expanded its operations and began collaborations with pre-eminent entities in the military such as the Air Force Parajumper special forces.    In response to the pandemic, MaxFi adapted and emerged in 2021 as a respected simulation company, strategically shifting towards service provision.
