When Joe Frangiosa Jr. – a military veteran and artist – retired, he started a passion project that was funded by his pension: telling and showing stories of U.S. nautical wartime history. Fast-forward several years, and a donor who believed in Joe’s work pledged a significant amount of money so he could expand his charitable cause. There was just one problem: Joe didn’t have the nonprofit status or infrastructure he needed to accept the donation.
